Well, comedian Bill Cosby just took a hit as a Santa Monica jury awarded Judy Huth $500,000 in a civil suit. Huth claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 at the age of 16. At the time, Cosby would’ve been 37 or 38 years old.
Bill Cosby Found LIABLE of Sexual Assault in Judy Huth Civil Suit – Must Pay $500K
According to Judy Huth, she and her friend—who was 17 at the time—ran into Bill Cosby on the film set. Days later, Cosby allegedly invited them to join him at the Playboy Mansion. It was there where Cosby assaulted her in a bedroom of the mansion.
In her testimony, she said that the comedian tried to remove her pants and she managed to stop him by lying about being on her period. This apparently didn’t deter Cosby who she claimed revealed his penis and forced her hand to masturbate until ejaculation.
About the almost 30-year gap between the event and her filing the lawsuit, Huth said that she experienced anxiety attacks in 2014. Those attacks allegedly stopped in 2018 once the disgraced comedian was imprisoned following the Andrea Constand sexual assault case.
He was released in late June 2021 after the conviction was overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. As for the trial involving Huth’s claims, Cosby wasn’t in court for it. His 2015 deposition was played for the jury and in it, he claims to have never met Judy Huth and denied the allegations.
The twist in the case came when Huth’s legal counsel provided a photo showing the two at the Playboy Mansion in 1975. During that period, the Mansion was known to be a short-term home for a number of celebrities and was also known to be something of a nightclub of sorts.
The jury would award Huth $500,000.
It should be noted that reports of Huth filing the suit in December 2014 mentioned that the situation occurred in 1973 or 1974 and that she was 15 at the time. However, after looking at the evidence, she and her friend found that it was at least spring 1975.
Playboy Mansion visitors’ logs show that they were at they were there on April 5, 1975. Huth and her friend Donna Samuelson hadn’t discussed the alleged incident again until 2005. The allegations were largely forgotten until Hannibal Buress mentioned them in the above stand-up routine.
