At Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service on Sunday 22nd January 2022, Sarah Ferguson recited some words from her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II.
Sarah Ferguson Recalls Queen Elizabeth II’s Wise Words At Lisa Marie Presley’s Funeral
The former British sovereign passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96. And as part of that process, Ferguson recalled some words that the late monarch had given following the September 11th attack in 2001.
In her comments, Sarah said: “I think it’s time to stoke our flames within … to celebrate the extraordinary Lisa Marie.
“My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing [that] can be said can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments, because grief is the price we pay for love. And how right she was.”
It is thought that Fergie and Presley first encountered each other in 2009, and Presley was present at her 50th birthday celebration. And ever since that moment, their friendship went from strength to strength.
And this was reflected in Sarah’s post following the news of her passing. In the picture here, we can see that Sarah and Lisa are next to each other. They had massive smiles on their faces and could not have been any happier.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “You were my sissy, an amazing mother to Ben, Riley, Harper and Finley and a superbly loving daughter to Priscilla.
“You have been my devoted friend for many years and I am here for your family to support and love them. I am deeply saddened my sissy, you are in my heart.”
The fans on social media got behind Sarah’s words. A certain subset felt Sarah could not have given a better tribute. One person wrote: “I thought her words at the service were lovely.”
Lisa may no longer be here, but Sarah has plenty of memories that she formed. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
