TONIGHT! The first round of the King Of The Ring tournament begins! The first two matches of the tourney will be taking place tonight on Monday Night Raw. So we’ll see if my predictions are already worthless~! Plus, a United States title match, a supposed final performance from Elias and a special appearance from Sasha Banks! It’s a fair bit set for the night so let’s look into it!
King Of The Ring Round 1: Cesaro vs. Samoa Joe
I already predicted the whole tournament so for the first round at least, there’s not much more for me to say on these. It’s an interesting match-up though to be sure. Lotta power and technique on display. Should be fun!
King Of The Ring Round 1: Cedric Alexander vs. Sami Zayn
This could be sooooo good if allowed to be, though I can’t speak to how much heat it’ll have. But these guys are very similar and extremely talented so it’s a cool blend. Recently good wrestlers have been allowed to have good matches so I’m crossing my fingers that this gets to be real. But I won’t be shocked if it’s less than a minute long…
Elias’ final musical performance, allegedly
The story here is that, as 24/7 Champion, like all the others Elias is a marked man. He knows he’ll be hunted by everyone looking to get their hands on that title. So, he’s opted to have this one final performance before going into hiding and keeping his location a secret. But even the website is aware that this could result in the biggest interruption yet. Lord only knows who will walk away with that title by the end of this segment.
Sasha Banks to appear on the King’s Court!
Last week, Sasha Banks made her return to WWE in surprising fashion. She attacked an already injured Natalya and laid out Becky Lynch in a hellacious heel turn. So this week we get the follow-up. Jerry “The King” Lawler will be appearing on Monday Night Raw to host an edition of the King’s Court. And none other than Sasha Banks will be his guest. Segments like this can be hit or miss but it’ll be interesting to hear from her right now. I imagine her character will be based around the circumstances of her disappearance in a sense. I’m not sure how effective a heel that will make her in the long run, but hey, could be fun to play with.
WWE United States Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Braun Strowman
Last week, Braun Strowman made his intentions clear for Seth Rollins’ Universal Championship, but he did so at the expense of AJ Styles. AJ’s opted to give Braun a shot at his title right here on Monday Night Raw. I can only presume that this will be the main event. It seems like fun though it’s hard to imagine any sort of clean finish here, if there will be a finish at all. The OC will definitely get involved and I wouldn’t be shocked if it ends up being a six man tag of some sort by the end of it.
