Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to recap another week of AEW Dynamite!
Nick Jackson vs. Rey Fenix
Bell rings, big ovation for this match happening. Nick with a headlock, shot off, shoulder blocks traded but neither go down. On a second attempt Nick takes Fenix down, but he whips back up and nails a dropkick. Nick escapes a kick to the apron, flips to the floor to avoid an enziguri. They skitter to the floor, repeat their crazy stalemate sequence from the first Bucks/Lucha Bros match, back in the ring to square off to an “AEW” chant. Exchange of loud chops. Nick throws him off, Rey rebounds with a headbutt. Springboard, another flying headbutt! Rey grabs the wrist, gets the multiple springs in the ropes in for an incredible lucha arm drag taking Nick to the outside! Hits the ropes, Nick comes in and ducks a clothesline, enziguri kick takes Fenix to the outside. Runs up the ropes for a dive, Fenix avoids it, Nick rolls out, rushes but eats a leaping roll-through DDT!
Nick’s chest already red from those chops. Fenix up top, springs up for a huge swanton for a nearfall! Fenix with a rope walk, Nick avoids the kick, takes him down with a big bulldog, running knee gets a nearfall! Superkick Party called for, Nick goes for it but Fenix meets him with a kick to the leg. Nick grabs the wrist, wants Fenix’s signature arm drag… but he one-ups him, pulling him up to the second rope for a crazy springing frankensteiner, narrow nearfall!!!! Sharpshooter attempt, Fenix kicks him away, Wheelbarrow takedown, kicks evaded, Nick with a rolling enziguri. Shoots him to the ropes, tries for a superkick, Fenix holds onto the ropes, nails a superkick of his own! Hits the ropes, roundhouse kick nailed, superkick! But Fenix springs back up, another superkick takes him down!
Big applause as we begin the standing 10 count. Loud chop from Fenix as they raise, Nick taken to the apron, rope walk into a rana to the floor!!! “AEW” chant starts again. This is as crazy as expected. Fenix takes him into the ring, super springboard moonsault, misses but he lands on his feet only to get a combo of kicks capped by a stomp to the back of the head. Nick hits the ropes, rolls right into a cutter for a nearfall! Fenix hoists him onto his shoulders, Nick escapes to the apron but gets his face shoved into the top buckle. They grapple, Nick manages to pull him to the apron. Exchange of blows, simultaneous kicks land. Nick with a Roundhouse Kick… Stalling German Suplex onto the apron, geeze! Throws him into the ring, springboard X-Factor, right back to the apron as Fenix stands. Springs in for a huge Canadian Destroyer, Fenix kicks out but Nick transitions directly to a Sharpshooter!!!! Crowd is going wild as Fenix slowly drags his way to the ropes for the break!
Enormous “AEW” chant as Fenix kicks Nick away, forces him to the corner, Nick evades him, looks for a Tombstone, Fenix counters into a flash pin, Nick kicks out but eats a big superkick, springboard spin kick, Spinning Muscle Buster Driver finishes him off!
Winner: Rey Fenix
Well that was sure as hell Rey Fenix and Nick Jackson in a singles match, my God what an opener. Nonstop from the word go.
And now we just go directly into the next match. It’s telling that judging by the reactions to the entrance, it doesn’t seem it’ll suffer at all from immediately following that.
Britt Baker vs. Hikaru Shida
Lock-up, Britt quickly escapes. Crowd still riled up here. Britt shot to the ropes, shoulder block counter. Arm drags commence, Shida one of few Japanese wrestlers I’ve seen to actually do Japanese arm drags. Shida with a roundhouse kick to the kneeling Britt barely avoided. Britt hooks Shida’s arm, looking for Lockjaw! Shida escapes, wrestling her away. Commercial break with the match in the inset, Britt gets a clothesline in. Shoots her to the ropes, get a second one in. Hooks her for the front facelock, vertical suplex gets 2. Hikaru fights back, gets her in the corner and lands some shots. Whip to opposite corner reversed, Shida gets Baker horizontal on the top rope, running high knee to the midsection!
Baker rolls to the apron as we come back. Shida takes her out to the floor and shoves her to the barrier as a loud dueling chant ensues. Shida takes up a steel chair and sits it down, ref Aubrey Edwards is trying her best to stop her, but she charges anyway, springing off the chair for a flying high knee! Hikaru up top, tries to drag Baker into the ring but Baker counters, armbreaker takes her shoulder across the top rope. Into the ring, big slingblade! Pumphandle Facebuster, nearfall! Hikaru counters a waistlock into a wristlock, shoots her to the corner. Charges, Baker evades, Hiakru sent to the apron, knee to the chest, step-up flatliner! Nearfall. Britt bleeding from the nose somewhat. Hikaru with elbows to the back of the head, hits the ropes but gets clipped. Britt hits the ropes instead, only to run right into a rising knee to the face!
Shida and Britt exchanging elbows. Judo Hip Toss from Hikaru, fireman’s carry backbreaker for a nearfall! PK! Covers but Britt rolls her through into an atempted Lockjaw! Hikaru struggles mightily, gets her leg to the bottom rope before she can hook the jaw! Baker quickly pulls her up, Fisherman’s Neckbreaker for a veeeerrry close nearfall! Hikaru catches a thrust kick, slap to the face, tight inside cradle for another extremely close pin. Falcon Arrow for another nearfall, hits the ropes, Buisaku Knee! And that is that!
Winner: Hikaru Shida
Real good stuff, and as a result Shida will now be topping the AEW women’s division rankings.

Battle royal is up next, and Hangman Page is the first man out for it!
Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal
Participants: Hangman Page, Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Kip Sabian, Jimmy Havoc, Jungleboy, Marko Stunt, Pentagon Jr., Sonny Kiss, Joey Janela, MJF & Billy Gunn
Fenix is out to help support his brother… but as the bell rings he unmasks as Christopher Daniels and pulls Pentagon to the ropes, Chuck Taylor dumps him! Sabian and Janela sent to the outside but no elimination. Chuck Taylor with a suicide dive to Sabian! Sonny Kiss with a twerking in the middle of the ring for Billy Gunn! Ass Man having fun with it, turns around to bend over but MJF spoils the moment and throws Kiss out of the ring. Billy Gunn looks crazy cut for his age my God. Everybody swarms on him, aside from Orange Cassidy who’s just chilling in the corner. Gunn throws everyone off, clotheslines Jimmy Havoc over the top rope, throws Marko out. Havoc comes back in with a staplegun and viciously staples Gunn over over and as well as several other participants! “You Sick Fuck” chant as referees have to swarm in and remove him. Commercial break as he screams “Tossers!” into the camera.
We come back to see MJF and Sabian stomping Taylor in the corner. During the break, Joey Janela was eliminated when Shawn Spears came in with a chair shot to the side of his head taking him off the top rope. Loud “Asshole” chant directed at MJF. Billy Gunn getting shots in on everyone, big blows. Finally, to a massive ovation he comes face to face with Orange Cassidy. Hands in the pockets!!!! Gentle leg kick to enormous pops. He starts to go for the thrust kick – and MJF ruins it yet again, throwing him over the top rope! But Gunn once more is behind him… he slowly turns but gets into his face. Gunn tells him to suck it, kick to the gut, Fameasser!!! Tosses him but MJF hangs onto the top rope.
Billy pulls him to his feet… Wardlow makes his way down the ramp! This distracts Gunn, eye poke to Billy, Hangman with a big lariato! Throws him over the top rope for an elimination. Hangman in control now, big boot to Sabian, clotheslines to Jungleboy and Chuck Taylor! Off a charge, Hangman eats a rising knee from Taylor. Taylor taken to the apron but he fights off Sabian and Jungleboy, only for Penelope Ford to grab him by the ankle from the floor! This lets Sabian knock him off for the elimination, Jungleboy with a running headscissor takes him to the outside for the elimination! Jungleboy and Hangman Page are the only ones visible in the ring, staring down as the match seems to have concluded… but MJF was never eliminated and from the floor, he pulls Jungleboy off the apron for the last elimination!
Winners: Hangman Page & MJF
MJF slips back into the ring to pose and get some major heat. Page attacks him, but there’s already a bunch of officials around to stop a fight from breaking out. Next week, these two will finally go one-on-one!
Chris Jericho promising a major announcement up next. We see him with Jake Hager backstage where Jake for some reason grabs a construction helmet. In the inset, they put it on the head of Peter Avalon as they make their way through the backstage, check out some of the Librarian’s books just to toss them aside. Jericho confronts Marko Stunt, bowing up.
After the break, Jericho makes his way out! Hager still in tow. Jericho tells everyone to sit down and shut up because he has an announcement to make. This quickly turns cheers to boos. Jericho says before he makes the announcement, you saw what he did last week on Dynamite when he had a temper tantrum and destroyed a bunch of stuff he had to pay for. He says it wasn’t conduct conducive to Le Champion. So he wanted to say that he’s sincerely s-s-s-s-s… he can’t seem to say the word ‘sorry’. “Tell ’em, Big Hurt”. He puts the mic to Hager’s lips who says that he’s very sorry. And to show how sorry he is, Jericho says that next week he will finally get the respect he deserves from everybody watching. This will be happening in Chicago because they have a hockey team and two baseball teams, so it’s much better than here. It’s a Thanksgiving Celebration next Wednesday on Dynamite. He promises fun, games, prizes, an aquarium, maybe some clowns and he’s very sorry that it won’t be taking place here in this dump Indianapolis.
He signs off but SCU’s theme plays to cut him off. Scorpio has a mic as they make their way into the ring. Jericho yells at the crowd to shut up which prompts a loud “SCU” chant. Scorpio says that was truly admirable, it takes a paragon of virtue to come out and apologize when he’s done something wrong. But you forgot to mention why you threw that tantrum last week, because not only did SCU successfully defend their world tag team championships, but Scorpio pinned him and gave him his first AEW loss. Big pop and a chant of “You got pinned”. Scorpio says his DMs are all blowing up, in fact his high school crush, Melody Parsons called him and they’re going out next week! Huge pop and chant of “Melody!”
Scorpio says he also wants to apologize, he’s truly a big Chris Jericho fan and he never meant to embarrass him. Big “ooh” for this. Jericho says he didn’t embarrass him, and he’s seen Melody Parsons, she’s gained a lot of weight since High School! Scorpio shrugs, says he likes big butts and cannot lie. Jericho says it’s cuter than baby Yoda that he thinks he can hang with him. Calls himself the Greatest of All Time and says he DID put a blemish on his record, and he will get his revenge against him in a singles match. Daniels on the mic. He says they need time to prepare, tricking Jericho into giving him a match next week! Frankie says if this match is happening, we need to make sure it’s NOT for the AEW World title match since he always gets crazy over it. Scorpio says he doesn’t deserve it, and they goad him into giving him a title match as well! Scorpio says next week, he’ll turn Le Champion into Le Bitch!
Brawl breaks out now, the rest of the Inner Circle come out to take the fight to SCU! Santana and Ortiz have handcuffs, and they cuff Daniels’ wrist to the middle. Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler come out for the save, but they’re Nakazawa and Cutler so they’re quickly repelled. Hager whips Sky into a vicious Judas Effect! But then the Jurassic Express theme hits! Marko rushes down the ring and eats a clothesline from Jericho, Jungleboy in to get some offense in but also dispatched – Luchasaurus now in the ring and everyone bails except for Hager! The two big men confront one another! Lucha wants a fight… but Hager backs off. Inner Circle make their way up the ramp as we go to commercial.
After a commercial, Luchasaurus still in the ring, Avalon is with him now. Avalon says he’s glad he’s back, seems life found a way. But he’s about to turn the fossil into motor oil. Big heat.
Luchasaurus vs. Peter Avalon
Roundhouse kick to the head. Spinning Wheelbarrow Facebuster.
Winner: Luchasaurus
This largely existed to explain why he made the save just then as he was already set to come out to compete, and it also gives him an easy dominant win so hey.
P-N-P vs. Private Party time. Both teams come out with Matt Travis shirts, and one of them is hung on the top rope.
Santana & Ortiz vs. Private Party
Lock-up, Santana gets Kassidy in a waistlock takedown. Facewash. Taunts him with a shake of the arms. Commercial break, match ins the inset. Waistlock, Kassidy with a snapmare counter, quick pin for a 1 count, Santana catches a kick and gets a chop in. Hits the ropes, shoulder block takes him down. Kassidy counters a wrist lock with an arm drag, hits another, dropkick, Santana bails. Ortiz grabs up a chair just for the hell of it.
We come back to see Quen has tagged in, being isolated but he knocks Ortiz off the apron, knocks Santana to the center, goes up top but Ortiz cuts him off, lets Santana hit an Avalanche Russian Legsweep, Ortiz with a hotshot, Santana with a deadlift German Suplex, bridge, Kassidy breaks it up with a double foot stomp. Santana with a backbreaker, grinds him against his knee. Jeers rain down as Ortiz poses on the middle rope. Santana pulls him up, vertical suplex, keeps him hooked, second amigo turns into a stall, Ortiz tags in, Santana passes him to Ortiz who maintains the delayed suplex! Quen has been up for a while here, and Santana tags right back in to take him back! Crowd is going crazy here, Ortiz tags in and he gets passed yet again, this is finally turned into a big Falcon Arrow for a nearfall.
Ortiz rips the shift off of Quen and rakes the back. Quen tries to fight back but another back rake stops that. Boston Crab locked in, Ortiz walks him over to the corner, tag to Santana! Comes off the top teasing a double foot stomp as Quen is still held in the crab, but he purposefully overshoots and hits an arrogant back kick instead. Boston Crab/Camel Clutch is locked in before the ref counts Ortiz out to force him to break and go back to the apron. Commercial break, match continues in the inset. Santana grinds Quen’s head into the mat. Tag to Ortiz, suplex, bridge for a 2 count. Inverted Chinlock, turned into a double-arm Camel Clutch, seemingly just to tease Rusev for some reason as it was in other words an Accolade.
Rakes the head of Quen, knocks Kassidy off the apron. Quen taken to the P-N-P corner for quick tags and isolation. Back from break, Ortiz has Quen in a bear hug. Crowd rallies behind QUen, Ortiz hoists him up, Quen rolls through, tag to Kassidy! Big kick to Santana, shoots Ortiz to the ropes, rana, dropkick to Santana to take him to the floor! Kassidy taken to the apron, elbows Ortiz away, leaps over a clip attempt from Santana, back kick, Asai Moonsault and he lands on his feet off the move! Springs into the ring for a big Code Red! Ref starts to count, but Santana grabs him by the leg apparently to break it up. I think he was meant to pull him out but was perhaps out of position. Silly String attempt, but Quen’s back gives out after being worked over during the break, Sit-Out Powerbomb from Ortiz, PK from Santana, cover for a nearfall!
Ortiz hooks Kassidy onto the top rope, Santana tagged in, running kick to the head, hangman’s neckbreaker, cover for a nearfall! Ortiz with a slapjack now, the sock full of baseballs! He wants to use it, but Nick Jackson emerges, grabs the slapjack to take it away! Private Party take over as a result – GIN AND JUICE FOR THE WIN!
Winners: Private Party
Big win here, but afterwards, Sammy Guevara comes out to attack Nick Jackson. Dustin Rhodes in the ring though! Uses the cast on his hand to take out P-N-P, Sammy G with a springboard only to take an Inverted Atomic Drop and a shot of his own! Crowd chants for “Dustin”, Private Party, Nick Jackson and Dustin celebrate in the ring.
Rundown for next week, MJF vs. Hangman in the Dynamite Dozen finals, return of Cody, PAC vs. Kenny Omega and the Scorpio Sky/Chris Jericho world title match. We only got our main left, but first, we see a video of Kenny lifting extremely tiny looked weights. He says it’s a little rare that he gets to talk to people in front of cameras. He’s not known as a promo guy, not even really known as a hardcore guy but he’s been doing a lot of weird stuff lately. He’s not been himself lately. Omega says that dates back to All Out, his match with PAC where that one instance seemed to derail him. Next week, they’ve given him a chance to hit the reset button. Says goodbye and good bench.
We see a video just before the main event of Darby pulling a body bag with ‘Mox’ written on it. He skateboards and drags it across roads, taking it onto stage of a concert where he gets inside it and is sent into a crowd to be crowdsurfed.
He is then carried out, still in the body bag. It rolls over and he emerges, still with his board, to a big pop. Darby skates down the ramp, still dragging the bodybag behind him for his entrance. Mox comes out of the crowd, and Allin catches him with a suicide dive before the bell! Allin sends him into the crowd, fights him through the people as a loud chant of “AEW” starts. Moxley fights him back towards the barrier, back suplexes him to ringside but Allin flips and lands on his feet, charging flying clothesline over the barrier! They fight amongst the people once more, Mox finally hoists him onto his shoulders and takes him back to ringside! Lifts him up, drives him spinefirst into the ringpost! Overhead Belly To Belly suplex onto the floor! Moxley throws Darby into the ring and finally the bell rings.
Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin
Darby struggles his way up in the ropes, Mox charges, Darby with the feet up, shotgun dropkick takes him into the corner! Charging forearm, snapmare, goes up top, tries a crossbody but Mox just stands there and lets him bounce off of him. Running dropkick drives him into the corner, crowd is electric. Huge biel takes Darby all across the ring. Commercial, inset, another big biel. Stomp to the elbow of Darby. Grabs him by the wrist and stomps his chest and face. Hoists him to his feet, tries a chop, Darby ducks it and sends shots, hits the ropes, Mox with a charging elbow.
Back from break in time to see Mox lock in the Cloverleaf. Darby struggling and fighting, Mox turns it into an STF! It’s in tight here. Darby makes it to the ropes, fights out of the corner with a roll over, springs in from the apron, crossbody against the ropes, they each end up on the outside. Mox wants a back suplex onto the apron, Darby fights out, shoves him right into the steel steps. Grabs him by the wrist, slams his hand against the steps. Darby rolls in and out to break the count, Mox throws him into the ring, but a dropkick takes Mox off the apron and back to the floor. Darby up top, but Mox up in time cut him off, wants a superplex to the floor! Darby manipulates the fingers, stomps them against the metal turnbuckle! Mox shoves Darby away, he bounces painfully off the top rope!
Mox is selling like his fingers got broken there. Mox wants a suplex, Allin fights it, but ends up getting nailed with an X-Plex. Darby to the apron, running knee takes him to the floor as a loud “This Is Awesome” chant kicks up. Mox grabs up the body bag, doesn’t appreciate it, tope con hilo between the ropes from Darby! Throws him inside, takes the body bag into the ring, but Mox tears him inside out with a clothesline! Mox puts Darby into the body bag, similar to what happened at Fyter Fest. Mox stomps the now helpless Darby, ref has to get between him. Ref unzips the bag to some heat, Mox drags him out, Darby bites the fingers and sends shots in, Flip Stunner! Hits the ropes, Mox counters with a Black Hole Slam!
Mox wants Paradigm Shift, Darby escapes, sends him shoulder to the post, roll-up for a very close nearfall! Darby rolls back, then hops up into a Code Red, yet another narrow nearfall!! Darby up top, Coffin Drop, but Mox positions himself and catches him out of the air with a Rear Naked Choke!!! Darby flips backwards, turns it into a cover!!! Mox narrowly kicks out! Mox up top, Darby stops him, Mox bites his forehead, hooks the arms – PARADIGM SHIFT OFF THE TOP ROPE! Obviously that’s the end!
Winner: Jon Moxley
