Impact Wrestling has finally released Killer Kross. He had been wanting out of his contract since May, and that was granted earlier this week. But it seems he won’t be a free agent for very long, as WWE has reportedly offered him a significant offer. This news was first reported by WrestlingNews.co.
What potentially makes this an issue is Kross just signed a deal with Major League Wrestling. It’s clear Kross isn’t against not living up to the deals he signs, so perhaps he will turn his back on MLW for the bright lights and fame of WWE.
Why Killer Kross Wanted To Leave Impact
His main issue with Impact came from problems he had with his creative direction, as well as his current pay per appearance deal. He was unable to renegotiate the terms of his deal.
An issue with him being booked in a First Blood match with Eddie Edwards further escalated the situation. Kross did not want to blade for the match, using fake blood instead in his defeat.
That was his final appearance for Impact as he was not used in the tapings going forward, with negotiations continuing as a stalemate until December when he was released from his deal.
What Would He Have To Offer To WWE?
Killer Kross is no doubt a solid worker who has an intimidating size and look. He’s exactly the type WWE likes, someone who they could even have skip NXT if Vince takes enough a liking to him. If the news of him getting a big offer is true, the interest is clear. For the best showcase of his ability, track down his match at GCW Bloodsport against Davey Boy Smith Jr.
There’s also the fact that his significant other, who wrestles as Scarlett Broduex has signed with NXT and is awaiting debut. Wanting to be in the same company as the person your with simply makes sense in wrestling, given how much travel is involved it could get hard to see each other. While NXT isn’t bad as they’re mostly locked to Florida, RAW & Smackdown have insane travel and work schedules. Having someone close to travel with is damn near essential.
