Following a hard hitting match with NXT UK Champion WALTER, KUSHIDA was injured. The Japanese Superstar suffered a wrist injury in late September, then re-aggravated it in the match with WALTER. Being one of the most hyped signing for NXT recently, it will be curious to see what is on his radar.
Kushida Looking For Revenge?
While it would be easier to check for him in NXT UK, WALTER & Imperium often show up at Full Sail University to prove their excellence. KUSHIDA is not one to take a beating and not want to dish it back out, so I feel after he proves he is back to 100%, calling out the NXT UK Champion could be on his to-do list. KUSHIDA could work his way through Imperieum before finally facing WALTER in a rematch. Maybe WALTER could even put his belt on the line for the rematch.
Breaking The Prophecy
The Undisputed Era hold all the gold they could get their hands on in NXT. This puts a major target on their backs, and means that everyone wants to take from their hoard. KUSHIDA and Roderick Strong would be fantastic opponents for each other. They would be tear the roof off an arena anywhere. Adam Cole is a bit busy with Finn Balor, Keith Lee, and Tommaso Ciampa breathing down his next, and KUSHIDA lacks a tag partner to face Fish & O’Reilly. This makes Strong and his North American Championship a perfect target for KUSHIDA after his return.
Cruiserweight Mastery
Prior to leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling, KUSHIDA was considered the ace of the juniors division. He was a six time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, two time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with Alex Shelley as Time Splitters, won the Super J Cup in 2016, and Best Of The Super Juniors in 2015 & 2017. He had some of the best matches in division history with the likes of Hiromu Takahashi, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega. KUSHIDA brought prestige to the division, could he do the same for the Cruiserweight division in NXT? With 205 Live’s status shaky, and the belt being renamed the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, it is likely to be a fixture of the brand. Lio Rush has proven to be a fantastic champion, but could KUSHIDA be the next man to hold the title?
