Ladies and gentlemen, whether you realize it or not, we are at the precipice of a three-day weekend of pro wrestling PPVs. Of course WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 is this Sunday. But that’s not even close to all. The National Wrestling Alliance, which really came out of the woodwork to impress a lot of people in the fall of 2019, are returning to PPV for the first time in April tomorrow night, with their event, Into The Fire. And if that’s not enough, tonight, Ring of Honor is putting on what is nominally their biggest event of the year, the WrestleMania-equivalent if you weel, ROH Final Battle 2019!
It’s the latter that I’ll be discussing right now, as we have ten matches to look into! So let’s not waste any more time.
Rhett Titus vs. Kenny King
Rhett Titus and Kenny King are two men who have been in ROH for a very long time. Seasoned veterans with plenty of talent, this should for a pretty good match. It seems like the likely opener for the show and I think it’d be well-suited to that.
Titus and King were long time on again off again tag team partners. Known as the All Night Express, their first run went from 2009 to 2012, ceased when Kenny King began a run with then-TNA. After his return to ROH, he immediately reunited with Titus and teamed with him again for another two years, which involved joining a stable together as well. By stipulation they were forced to disband in 2017 however, and the two have gone their separate ways ever since.
In spite of the length of their time together, they only held tag gold once, and it was for a mere weeks. Albeit this is because of King’s aforementioned TNA signing, which forced them to vacate the titles. Now, the two of them find themselves at odds. Neither men have a ton of momentum going into this match it seems, but I’d probably pick Kenny King to win.
ROH Final Battle 2019 airs tonight on iPPV, 7PM CT.
