CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers is here to bring you the best up to date news on our favorite soaps, and this one’s a doozy.
It had to happen. It was only a matter of time until the walls between friends wore down and they gave into their lesser, animalistic desires. Or they could just love each other and have been denying it this whole time. Whatever the reason, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) stealing a kiss made it to the cover of a magazine.
Oh, right. This is supposed to be about what led to it. Well, if we must.

Balancing act
We here at CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers are never short on opinions, so let’s be honest, this isn’t a surprise given how things between Kyle Abbot (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) have progressed since Kyle and Lola’s fight. It’s a tricky balancing act to keep fans entertained while breaking up our favorite (or least favorite depending on our personal choices) couples.
There has to be someone ready to swoop in and steal the odd person out, or just give them something to complicate their relationship with. The latter is the most fun, as we get to see all sorts of cussing and fussing between… um, joy as the correct couples come together after a long and bitter rivalry.
Seriously though, it’s understandable for something like this to happen given Kyle and Lola’s schedules. Having a fight is bad enough, but to then be unable to fully repair the damage done is heartbreaking.
And when that’s followed up with Lola’s mom being in a car accident, where’s she going to turn?
It’s easy to say her husband, who told her to go back to work to keep busy and left to return to work and talk with his old flame about their recent kiss, but if he… Well, guess we covered why he wasn’t available, huh?
Two side to a problem
On the flip side, it’s easy to understand Kyle’s problem at having to juggle two problems now, never mind at least one is his fault. Of course, would it have been that difficult to stay with Lola and make sure she’s okay? Her mom was just in an accident and the two of them haven’t had the chance to move beyond their own problem. The man should’ve stayed at the restaurant with her in case she needed someone.
But that would’ve meant poor Theo wouldn’t have been able to use what he knows about Kyle and Summer to his advantage. All he has to do is continue being the supportive friend and wait for his opportunity. And if Lola falters, he’ll use Kyle and Summer’s whoopsie to his advantage.
He’ll then continue to be there for Lola and achieve his life’s dream of pushing Kyle over the line. Sure, Kyle may beat the crap out of him if he finds out, but that’ll just play into Theo’s hands even more. Remember how well Kyle’s last punch worked in Theo’s favor? Yep. Get ready for round two and game, set, match for Theo.
Summer will then no longer be the runner up, though her promotion to first string would be tainted.
Think she’ll mind? Probably, but she’ll quickly get over it. If not, mother – Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) – will surely give her a hearty shove to “do the right thing” and reclaim her lost love.
Normally, we like to pick a singular victim and empathize with them, but in this case we have three. Kyle, Lola, and Summer are all going to suffer because of Theo’s actions, and each in different ways. Kyle will watch as his chief rival gets everything that was his, Lola will lose her husband due to both Kyla and Theo, and Summer will be miserable because she’ll have a constant bought of conscience over the way things happened.
There may be slight tweaks and twists along the way to keep us on our toes as this looks to be shaping up to be a story arc that’s going to be must see.
So, it’s time for some fun and games. Do you think Theo will prevail or will he become a fourth victim after Kyle, Summer, and Lola get finished with him? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. And remember to check back often as CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers will keep bringing you the juicy gossip as it hits the airwaves.
