NXT is back at Full Sail University for the first live episode of 2020, and they are going to start on the right foot. They have a stacked card like usual. So lets take a quick look at some of that has been announced ahead of time!
Fatal Four Way For A Shot At The NXT North American Championship
The biggest match of the evening will be a Fatal Four Way between Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, Cameron Grimes & Damian Priest. The winner of what will be a hard hitting and chaotic bout will have earned a title shot at the NXT North American Championship, currently held by Undisputed Era member Roderick Strong.
All four men ended 2020 in strong fashion, but you have to put Keith Lee as a favorite for this match-up. Following his fantastic run in November when NXT was invading RAW & Smackdown, his performance at War Games, and him nearly defeating Roman Reigns at Survivor Series? He is riding a huge wave of momentum, and he very well could be the man to end the prophecy of The Undisputed Era.
Tag Team Champions Clash! Gallas vs. Undisputed Era
NXT vs. NXT UK will be the focus of Worlds Collide in February, and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will provide us with a taste of what is to come when Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish face Mark Coffey & Wolfgang. The NXT Tag Team Champions and the NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
You would expect this as a finals match for this kind of tag team tournament, but instead we get it in the first round of the tournament. Neither team can afford a loss, but especially not Gallas. They will be defending their tag team championships in a Ladder Match later this month at NXT Takeover UK Blackpool II. Undisputed Era won’t go down easy, and they will look to halt the momentum of Gallas and advance as they try to win their third Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
The Forgotten Sons vs. Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel)
Gallus & Undisputed Era won’t be the only match of tournament action tonight, as we see The Forgotten Sons face Imperium members Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel. Imperium will be involved in the ladder match at NXT Takeover UK Blackpool II, so they will look to nab a win here to not only advance in the tournament but also gain some extra momentum as that huge match approaches.
Forgotten Sons are a dark horse pick in this tournament, and will surely break some brackets as they will look to finally make their name in NXT. This might not be as high caliber on paper as the clash of Tag Team Champions, but they will do their best to steal the show and with the talent involved? It is very possible.
Those are just three of the matches that will be seen on NXT TV tonight. Will you be watching? What are you looking forward to the most from tonights episode? Let us know down below and stay tuned for more WWE updates and news on The Overtimer.
