Tonight! All Elite Wrestling brings us AEW Revolution! Kicking off their 2020 PPV schedule is a truly major card. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and I’ll be with you all night to give you the full coverage! Below, you’ll see the results to each match as they come, plus links to full recaps! Watch this space!
AEW Revolution Buy-In: On the Buy-In, SCU faced off with the Dark Order. Due to distrust for Christopher Daniels after all of Uno and Grayson’s teasings, they left him in the back. The numbers caught up with them during the match and Dark Order got the win. They then swarmed in on SCU, only for Colt Cabana to make a surprise appearance in his hometown to help make the save and finally Christopher Daniels appeared, stripping off a black robe before helping Colt and SCU run off the Dark Order!
AEW Revolution Main Card:
Segment 1: Opening up the main card was the debut of Jake Hager, as he finally faced off with Dustin Rhodes! He spent a lot of it soaking up the heat before finishing Dustin with a Cobra Clutch, putting him to sleep!
Segment 2: In a crazy match, with much of the action occurring before the bell even rang, Darby Allin defeated Sammy Guevara!
Segment 3: This is not hyperbole. What came next was, to me, the single greatest match in AEW’s history. Hangman Page and Kenny Omega defended the tag team titles against the Young Bucks in a match with exactly as much action as it had drama and storytelling. The very peak of what pro wrestling can be, basically. It had it all. At the end of the match, Page & Omega retained the titles.
Segment 4: Nyla Rose retained the AEW Women’s World Championship over Kris Statlander. As is generally the case with Statlander, she’s a crazy good athlete who could clearly be very special after getting some experience, but at the moment is a bit inconsistent.
Segment 5: After months of build-up, finally Cody got his hands on MJF. It heavily involved everyone at ringside, Wardlow, Brandi Rhodes & Arn Anderson. It also saw Max being busted wide open. In the end, MJF got the victory with use of the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Segment 6: In an incredibly fun encounter, Orange Cassidy had his first AEW singles match against PAC. He shocked the Bastard time and again with his skills and deceptive demeanor. In the end, in spite of being terrified by several nearfalls, PAC got the victory.
Segment 7: In the main event, full of incredible storytelling and a gritty, bloody battle, Jon Moxley repelled interference from the entire Inner Circle and defeated Le Champion Chris Jericho to become the new AEW World Champion!
