After his stunning victory over Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover Portland, Finn Balor is on top of NXT once again. With the only blemish on his record since his return to the Black & Gold brand being a loss to NXT Champion Adam Cole, which was full of controversy, he has all the reasons in the world to be as confident as he is. He would come to the ring to let everyone know exactly why he is the best.
Everyone Wants That Finn Rub
Finn started this promo by stating he has done it all, and would list off his achievements from his career, dating all the way back to his time in Mexico and Japan. His list of accomplishments alone is enough to get most people into a wrestling hall of fame, but he is only just getting started.
He would then go on to say that it is Wrestlemania season, and was curious who wanted the boost in relevancy that facing Finn Balor gives people. It happened to Matt Riddle, Ilja Dragonauv, and Johnny Gargano. Who would be next?
Imperium Strikes Down Finn Balor
Suddenly, Imperium’s theme music hit and Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner came out. They would say that NXT belonged to the Ring General and NXT UK Champion, WALTER. Balor didn’t have them time to say anything else and dove onto them over the top rope. When Balor went for a running shotgun dropkick on the floor, Barthel took Balor out with a flying European uppercut off of the steel steps. The two Imperium members stood tall over Balor before heading to the back.
With Finn Balor being confirmed for the upcoming tapings of NXT UK, this confirms his direction there. The next NXT UK Takeover will be in Dublin, Ireland, and this has officially set Finn Balor on the path to NXT UK Champion WALTER.
Balor has been positioned as a babyface once again going into this feud. A two on one beatdown caught him off guard once, and the numbers game of Imperium will only get more daunting as time goes on. However Balor is tenacious, and if anyone can take out WALTER, it will be him.
