WWE Monday Night Raw continues after a solid opening bout. Later, we’ll have an actual 24/7 title defense with Riddick Moss defending against R-Truth and Mojo Rawley. Now out comes Charlotte Flair, and we get a recap of her appearance at NXT TakeOver: Portland where she laid out Rhea Ripley and accepted her challenge, announcing that she will officially face her for the NXT Women’s title at WrestleMania. There’s a chant of “NXT”. She mentions how Ripley came to Monday Night Raw and challenged the Queen and she was impressed. And then she thought about being in NXT training in a warehouse, and thinks about her generation making up the foundation of what is now the third brand in WWE.
Charlotte berates Ripley for the entitlement, for not having to fall down as many times, and for hoisting up the title that she put on the map. Says that pride comes before a fall and she will humble her at WrestleMania. Everyone is the next big thing until they’re not. Gives a woo and her theme plays.
24/7 Championship: Riddick Moss (C) vs. Mojo Rawley vs. R-Truth
This uh, just sorta abruptly started. Riddick pummels Truth in the corner after Mojo is taken out of the ring. Riddick with a Full Nelson Slam on Truth, Mojo pulls him off the cover and throws him into the barrier. Mojo goes back in the ring but Truth catches him with a couple of shoulder blocks, into a Protoplex and signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, a nod to his idol John Cena! He nails it and tries for the Attitude Adjustment, Mojo escapes and takes Truth down, only for Moss to roll him up for the win!
Winner: Riddick Moss
Afterwards, Moss makes his leave through the crowd. Mojo turns to yell at R-Truth, shouts “Did you see what you did?!” until Truth stops that with a kick to the gut, nails him with a Scissors Kick! R-Truth standing tall as the segment ends, which is not something I get to type every day.
I continue to not totally understand what they hoped to achieve with RIddick and Mojo but the two of them have finally managed to technically make actual matches for the 24/7 title a thing, which is a change of pace if nothing else. I’ve gotta think the vast majority of the audience have zero clue who Moss is though, they’ve done very little to explain where he even came from and he split from Mojo ridiculously fast.
