WWE Super Show-Down occurs today. Below, you’ll see results and links to recaps of the day’s ten matches.
Segment 1: On the Kickoff Show, The OC faced off with the Viking Raiders in a callback to their last show in Saudi Arabia. The OC got the victory.
Segment 2: Next up is the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet match. R-Truth and Bobby Lashley started it out. Truth lasted a surprisingly long time, eliminating Lashley and then US Champion Andrade before withstanding a steel steps shot from Rowan who was happy to get himself DQ’d. This left him easy pickings for AJ Styles. Rey should’ve been the last entrant but he was apparently taken out by the OC backstage. However that allowed the Undertaker to appear at the last minute as a surprise entrant and he chokeslammed a shocked AJ for the victory.
Segment 3: Up next, The New Day defend the WWE SmackDown Tag Team titles against the Miz and John Morrison. In the first title change of the night, Miz & Morrison got the victory after a sneaky chair shot and roll-up combo. Didn’t take them long at all to become champs.
Segment 4: Angel Garza took on Humberto Carrillo in a rematch from this past Monday’s edition of Raw. After another quick-paced lucha style match, Angel defeated Carrillo in a one-on-one match after reversing a sunset flip.
Segment 5: Our next title bout saw Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy defend the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against the Street Profits, a match based around the Profits coming in to run them off at the end of last Monday’s episode of Raw. Rollins & Murphy got the win to retain following a use of the Stomp.
Segment 6: In a singles match, Mansoor defeated Dolph Ziggler whilst repelling the interference of Robert Roode.
Segment 7: Brock Lesnar defends the WWE Championship against Ricochet. In spite of a massive build-up and video package treatment trying to convince everyone it would be a major move, Lesnar squashed Ricochet very, very easily.
Segment 8: Roman Reigns faced off with King Corbin in a steel cage match that was promised to finally be the blowoff to their feud. It seems that will be the case, as Reigns got the win without a hint of controversy.
Segment 9: In the first-ever women’s title match in Saudi Arabian history, Bayley retained the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Naomi, making use of the mandated t-shirts to get a dirty victory.
Segment 10: Finally, in the main event, Bill Goldberg defeated the Fiend to become a two-time Universal Champion.
