Another episode of AEW Dark has just been uploaded to YouTube, the latest show from All Elite Wrestling. On this edition of the weekly YouTube show, Christopher Daniels will face Stu Grayson, the first in his two singles matches against the main men of the Dark Order. I don’t mean to bum anyone out but I do feel compelled to state a fact; this may well be the last new regular wrestling event we see for a little while. That is to say, a wrestling event with fans… this show was taped last Wednesday and things were quite a bit different back then to say the least. Hopefully normalcy will be restored soon and this will all be a memory before long. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and you’ll still be getting recaps, results and previews of all the shows in the coming weeks.
Christopher Daniels vs. Stu Grayson
For months, the Dark Order have tormented the AEW tag team division and SCU in particular. Their head games, particularly in regards to the shadowy leader they call the Exalted One, have been intensifying. On numerous occasions they tried to lead Christopher Daniels’ allies Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian into thinking that the General may very well be the leader of the group. The attempt to drive a wedge between the members of the group ultimately failed, but only after a tense few weeks.
Daniels has not forgotten and has been set for revenge of late. He made a mockery of the Exalted One during the Buy-In pre-show at AEW Revolution, returning the headgames before helping make the save, running off the Dark Order with his Colt Cabana and the rest of SCU. Since then, he’s been telling everyone who will listen that there is no such thing as the Exalted One. He’s certain that all the hype has been for nothing and he wants to expose this as fact.
Last week, Daniels laid down the gauntlet. He would challenge both Stu Grayson and Evil Uno, the premier members of the Dark Order, to singles matches. Once he defeated them both, and still no Exalted One appeared, it would serve as proof that it was a complete fabrication. Of course, this is one instance where everyone is convinced the babyface is wrong but it’s understandable why he feels that way. This crusade certainly won’t end at the first match, so Daniels over.
