While it seemed like there was no crowd for the excellent 10 man elimination tag match on 205 Live, fans simply couldn’t see the man who stayed to watch. As Team NXT faced Team 205 Live, John Cena sat and watched some of the best in the world do what they do best.
John Cena Has Wanted To Do This For A While
While John Cena is a very busy man these days, at his core he is still a wrestling fan like the rest of us. He has given his life and body to the sport, and will still take any chance he can to sit down and enjoy it. After showing fans at home that he is still one of the best talkers in the business during a segment with Bray Wyatt, he found a seat and enjoyed some Cruiserweight action.
In a video for WWE.com, he explained that this is something he often wants to do, but he sticks out too much in the crowd. In this situation, he would have especially stood out seeing as he would have been the crowd. Because of this, he hung out in the tech area at ringside where his neon green shirt was still likely noticed by the talent in the ring.
He also went on the explain that he is a complete rookie at performing without a crowd at this point, so he was taking some notes from who he called the pros. He ended with just saying it was awesome to have this experience as he turned away from the camera to enjoy the match.
Could John Cena vs. The Fiend Be An Empty Arena Match?
With how heavy WWE has leaned into this storyline, with Bray Wyatt blaming his loss to John Cena at Wrestlemania 30 being the catalyst for The Fiend character, this match needs to happen. While John Cena claimed to be taking notes, the reality of the situation is this match could happen in an empty arena match. With the animosity between these two men so high, a falls count anywhere match in the WWE Performance Center could be exactly what this feud needs. No distractions, no fans to get in the way, just two men with a grudge ready to fight. Do you think Cena vs. Wyatt could work in this way?
