Tonight fans of NXT will get the new arena they’ve been asking for. With Full Sail University booked for another event, they are going to be shooting NXT live from the WWE Performance Center. This should give a temporary breath of fresh air for the show, as while Full Sail University is an iconic venue for WWE, it adds to the tired feeling that NXT has had as of late.

Not The First Time We’ve Seen Something From The Performance Center

Given that it is the state of the art WWE training facility, it is not shocking we have seen something similar in the past. This was for Halftime Heat in 2019, where we saw a 6 man tag that aired during the halftime show of the Super Bowl. They mostly had NXT staff and talent as the crowd for the incredible match which saw Aleister Black, Ricochet and Velveteen Dream vs. Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. The match received great reviews at the time, and was almost twenty years after the last Halftime Heat match, The Rock vs. Mankind in an Empty Arena match.

If This Is A Success, We Could See WWE Do This More Often

While they surely have a great deal going with Full Sail University, having taped NXT from there since 2012 and going live in 2019. They use the students from the school in roles such as camera operators, making it very beneficial for both parties. Tickets would often be free for students as well, making it a great perk for any wrestling fans in attendance. However, there would be no cost or conflicts if part of the WWE Performance Center became the new home base of NXT. It is a building they already own, and there would be no fear of having to come up with a new location if it wasn’t available. Another perk is that if they needed a talent in a pinch, there should always be plenty around the Performance Center.

NXT Preview

This will be an interesting episode of NXT to say the least. There is going to be two title matches, as we see Keith Lee defend his North American Championship against Cameron Grimes, and The Broserweights will defend the Tag Team Championships against The Undisputed Era. Combine that with the fallout from the two steel cages from last week, and NXT will have another must see week.
