Half of the The Revival has gotten what he wanted for months. Scott Dawson is no longer part of WWE, following his contract expiring earlier this week. His partner, Dash Wilder still has 10 weeks on his contract due to past injuries. This begs the question, what will Scott Dawson do in the meantime?
Scott Dawson Announced This On Twitter With Glee
After months of teasing and requesting his release, Scott Dawson finally got what he wanted. He made the following tweet to announce this. “I AIN’T GOT A DIME, but what I got is mine. I ain’t rich, but Lord I’M FREE! #FTR”. Both members have long teased going to wherever The Young Bucks reside to finally give the world the dream match that has been on many fans minds. #FTR is a remnant of their early internet feud, coming from Being The Elite and meaning ‘F*ck the Revival”.
Will He Go To AEW Solo And Wait For Dash Wilder?
While neither man is going to set the world on fire on this own, an AEW debut for even just Scott Dawson could get fans excited for what is to come. He could be brought in a few different ways. Shawn Spears needs a tag team partner still, and we could see a union with him as they have roots together in NXT. The main motivation that Dawson would have here is to get a bit of knowledge from an idol in Tully Blanchard. They could have a temporary union while Dash Wilder sits out the rest of his deal. Dawson could also debut in secret as a goon for the Dark Order, only to reveal himself and defect from the faction when the time is right. This gives a good bit of extra speculation for AEW.
We could also just see Scott Dawson enjoy another few months to relax and get into shape for a new chapter of his career. This is a sign of great tag team wrestling to come, and fans could get another six star tag team classic from AEW in 2020. Do you want to see The Revival face The Young Bucks?
