While there have been people dropping out of Wrestlemania 36 due to sickness, you can have a relief knowing Andrade is not going to be at Wrestlemania for another reason. During the match on Monday Night RAW with Angel Garza where they faced Ricochet & Cedric Alexander, Andrade would hurt his back and that would put him out of action for the duration of tapings. With the match being for the RAW Tag Team Championships and not his United States Championship, he can be replaced. His replacement is Austin Theory from NXT.
Austin Theory Already Made It To Wrestlemania
While people knew that this wrestling prodigy was made for the big stage and bright lights of Wrestlemania. Having only made his NXT TV debut back in December in a losing effort to Roderick Strong, that puts only a mere four months between his debut in WWE and at Wrestlemania, one of the fastest ever. He most recently appeared on NXT TV where he had a fantastic match with Tyler Breeze, where he lost due to his cocky nature. Theory is the type of heel that will work great alongside Angel Garza, as they carry similar energy, and also makes sense as a new client of Zelina Vega.
Should Andrade Have To Vacate His Championship?
There will be very little new wrestling happening within WWE in the next few weeks, making it very unlikely that Andrade will have to compete, giving him plenty of time to rest up and be healthy once things are back to normal. However, this makes the second time he could miss a considerable amount of time as United States Champion, having previously served a 30 day suspension due to a failed wellness policy. The situation makes it clear that his time as champion is bringing him mountains of bad luck, and it could be time to have someone else hold it. With some matches at Wrestlemania having no stakes like Lashley vs. Aleister Black, putting a vacant United States Championship on the line would drive interest.
Are you excited to see the young Austin Theory make his Wrestlemania debut as he teams with Angel Garza to face the Street Profits? Will he remain on RAW after this or go back to NXT? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
