Austin Theory has barely been in NXT for long enough to brew a cup of coffee. Despite this, he is already claiming to be one of the greatest superstars in NXT history. Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott would take exception with this, and challenge him to a match. If Theory is as great as he says he is, he should have no issue beating him. Both men are former Evolve Champions, and have bright futures ahead of them, but only one would be victorious.
Believe In The Hype Of Austin Theory
Despite a strong showing by Swerve, Austin Theory would prove his bragging isn’t unfounded. The 22 year old wrestling prodigy needed to win this one, after major losses to Roderick Strong & Tomasso Ciampa tainting his win loss record.
A deadly armbreaker from Swerve late in the matcy would put the win in jeopardy, but Theory would fight through and nail his patented finisher the ATL (Austin Theory Launch) for his biggest win yet in NXT.
Championship Gold In His Future?
Austin Theory has a lot of reason to be as cocky as he is. He is young and already a decorated champion in companies like Evolve. It is only a matter of time before he accomplishes the same in NXT. He came out of this match looking like an absolute star, and would be a logical challenger for the NXT North American Championship if he can keep his winning ways up.
He is destined to play the role of heel, and anyone put alongside Keith Lee gets boo’d so loudly no one can even hear them speak. Someone beating Keith Lee would be torn alive by the NXT faithful, especially if it came early in his run. Austin Theory would be the perfect man to put that heat on, being a potential long term player for WWE. You could almost see him as the next Randy Orton, a lump of pure talent who will be around for years to come. There is no wonder he was a major signing, and success will be coming very soon.
Do you think Austin Theory should be the one to take the NXT North American Championship off Keith Lee? Would that be too much responsibility for the young talent? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
