One of the best parts of modern wrestling is the wild world of Twitter. It is one of the few places where talent from companies can interact, and an often lead to mini feuds where battles are fought with words, not suplexes. The latest of this comes from The Monster Among Men & The Murder-hawk Monster, WWE’s Braun Strowman & AEW’s Lance Archer.
Fans Started This Incident
On this past weeks episode of AEW Dynamite, we got a video to hype of Lance Archer as the next big thing in AEW. For fans familiar with his recent run in NJPW, it isn’t a shock that he is deadly. His last run in the United States was with WWE which is best known for an awful back tattoo, making this needed. The video saw Archer & manager Jake Roberts approach a ring set up in a backyard, and ended with Archer taking out every single person in the area in violent fashion.
Fans would share this video around, and one would suggest that this is how WWE should be using Braun Strowman. This prompted Braun to defend himself and his company.
Is Lance Archer A ‘Great Value’ Version Of Braun Strowman?
For those unaware, Great Value is the WalMart brand of products, which is often inferior to the real deal but cheaper. This is what Strowman would say in regards to that he should be presented like Archer. “Great value brand version of me!!!!! Good joke.“
Archer would not take this laying down, and replied with the following. “Great Value you say?! Hmmmm. Great. Yup! Valuable. Yup! Experienced. Yup! Agile Yup! Interesting. Yup! Personality Yup! So. Yea. You can say I’m of DAMN GOOD VALUE! So thanx KID.“
The conversation would end with Braun saying a quick “Anytime, old man!” before arguing with more fans in the comments.
Who Would Win?
While we are highly unlikely to ever see a match between these two massive men, it is always fun to speculate. Both are booked as dominant forces in the ring, but Archer has a very clear edge in experience, and has arguably just hit his prime. Archer is just coming off a run as IWGP United States Champion, which he won in a war with Juice Robinson, and defended against David Finlay, before losing to Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match at Wrestle Kingdom.
Braun on the other hand, was recently WWE Intercontinental Champion, which he won from Shinsuke Nakamura using an exposed turnbuckle, and lost it in his first defense after agreeing to a 3 on 1 handicap match. If they were to face right now, the experience of Archer in both career longevity and hard battles would arguably give him the edge, Braun simply isn’t there yet.
