In AEW, there is no one in the ring who is more experienced than Dustin Rhodes. With five decades in the professional wrestling industry, Dustin Rhodes has done it all. From his years teaming with his father Dusty Rhodes, to his years in WWE as Goldust, he has seen and faced every type of wrestler in the world. Could this experience be the key to becoming the first ever TNT Champion.
Decades Of Tournament Experience Will Be Key
Over his 31 years in the ring, Rhodes has been in many tournaments, even winning the WCW United States Heavyweight Title Tournament back in 1993. Obviously that was quite a long time ago, but it shows that Dustin knows how to make his way through a tournament and win. He was in many editions of King of The Ring, Deadly Game, and more. His experience edge is untouchable in many ways, and this is another one. He sees things in the ring before they happen.
First Round Should Be Easy For Dustin Rhodes
In the first round, Dustin Rhodes is set to face Kip Sabian, who is a young and rising star, but still unrefined in the ring, especially compared the Dustin. Kip has been fairly solid in 2020, but as far as this tournament goes he will be the underdog in his bracket. Should Dustin make it past Kip, he will face the winner of Lance Archer & Colt Cabana. Archer could overwhelm Dustin, but again; experience is important.
His Last Potential Singles Run
As Dustin Rhodes career continues, he is starting to become more of a tag team wrestler. He has aligned with QT Marshall as The Natural Nightmares, who won a match on AEW Dynamite this weeks against two members of the Dark Order. With his age and spot in this tournament, we could see this be the final run as a singles star, and he will make this count as much as possible. With a potential final singles match against his brother Cody as an option in the finals, that might be all the motivation he needs to overcome anything.
Will Dustin Rhodes have one last run at singles gold with this tournament? Will the first TNT Championship reign be the final one of Dustin Rhodes? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
