The Lucha House Party have been getting a bigger role on Smackdown Live lately, recently getting a win over former Smackdown Tag Team Champions in Miz & Morrison. This was done by the duo of Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik, as the veteran member of the group, Kalisto has been missing for months now. Many were surprised he was not in the Tag Team Elimination Chamber match, as he had the experience edge over his partners, and his repeated absence had many thinking he was released from the company. However, he has simply been rehabbing a shoulder injury.
Kalisto Provided Fans With An Update
On his Youtube channel ‘Lucha Family’ Kalisto would provide his fans with the following update due to the volume of people asking where he has been lately. “Am I still with WWE? The answer is yes. But unfortunately I got hurt back on December 30th at the Staples Center in LA. So, I ended up having an AC separation in my shoulder, and some torn ligaments. Thank god, no surgery but it’s a longer recovery. I want to come back 100%.”
At that WWE Live Event, The Revival would defeat Kalisto & Gran Metalik, which is the last recorded match of Kalisto at this time. Full recovery could take months, which explains why Kalisto is still out of action.
Will He Be Able To Rejoin A Rejuvenated Lucha House Party?
As of late, the Smackdown Tag Team division has been getting increased focus, with teams like Lucha House Party & Forgotten Sons getting a higher level of focus as WWE attempts to build new stars. This could mean that once Kalisto is healthy, he will be able to hop back into a tag team of higher standing. Six man tag matches with teams like The New Day & Forgotten Sons could be fantastic, and The Usos might become a trio soon as well. This could give Kalisto a chance to become the star WWE wanted him to be, with him being a former United States & Cruiserweight Champion, but having fallen down the card in recent years despite his impeccable in ring ability.
