WWE Monday Night Raw rolls on and we see a replay of the opening segment in which Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy and Asuka officially the new Raw Women’s Champion. We see Asuka backstage still celebrating. Kairi Sane comes up to her looking shocked and celebrates alongside her. They just walk off yelling joyously. I’m not used to Raw having such an upbeat tone to it as this one has had thus far. We then see a highlight package of Edge and Randy Orton’s WrestleMania Last Man Standing match. After that we see a replay of Apollo Crews’ injury from two weeks ago. Backstage there’s some kind of argument amongst Zelina Vega’s crew. I’m not sure what they’re actually arguing about though. Angel Garza is wrestling up next though.
Akira Tozawa vs. Angel Garza
Both the entrances and the start of the match all happened off-screen. Tozawa nails Angel with a few roundhouse kicks and tries for a spinning enziguri but Angel catches him out of the air and takes Tozawa to the corner for a knee to the side. Angel rips off the tearaway pants. Places Tozawa’s head against the second buckle, chops him across the chest. Pulls him out of the corner but Tozawa fights back until a knee to the gut stops him. Whips him to the ropes but Tozawa counters the pop-up with a rana! Hits the ropes but there’s the pop-up knee! Takes Tozawa to the top rope, drapes him in the Tree of Woe, charging kick to the chest! Tozawa crumbles to the mat, Angel pins him for a 2 count. Octopus Stretch on the mat until Akira gets the ropes for the break. Angel pulls Akira up, hooks his arms as he holds him in the air. Angel turns and yells at Theory that he can do this all week, all year, all day… before dropping Tozawa with the Wing Clipper! That is certainly that.
Winner: Angel Garza
Garza and Theory are mouthing off at one another with Zelina and Andrade trying to break it up. Drew McIntyre’s music hits and he comes out to the ring. Asks if they’ve got it cleared up. Theory starts to charge in but eats a big Claymore! Andrade and Angel begging off but Garza gets one too! Andrade and McIntyre come face to face. As a shoving match starts, it looks like we’re getting another champion vs. champion match between the two up next.
