Nothing like a Rivalry themed week to bring out CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers urge to overindulge in popcorn and drinks as we settle in to watch the fun unfold.
In this throwback spoiler, we’re going to be taken back to October 1, 1993 and Victor Newman’s first return from the dead. It’s really cool that after all of these years, we get to see the side of him that isn’t all lovey-dovey when he gets his hands on those responsible, or we should say he believes are responsible for his car crash.
CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers aren’t taking any sides in this (We lie; we’re with Victor), we can’t help but bounce around in excitement for what’s to come with this episode.

Victor’s gonna get you
There’s an old saying that if someone’s going to try to kill another, they better succeed or they’re going to be the dead ones. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) fits this saying perfectly, putting him in elite company when it comes to badassness on television.
Now, we’ve seen plenty of people come back from the dead on daytime television thanks to comic book-like mad scientists, aliens, or other fun gimmicks. But Victor was a little different as he usually found a way to survive through his own guile and outright toughness/stubbornness.
This episode marks the first time he returned unexpectantly and caused some discomfort among his enemies. While he hasn’t been killed off as much as others, he was believed dead after being shipwrecked in Mexico in 2008, that close call in 2012, and another in December of 2019.
The man has the constitution of a vending machine, and it’s make his exploits in Genoa City all the more epic. He’s taken on the reputation of a mythic figure, and it’s well deserved.
What we’re left with is a legacy that makes the rest of this week difficult to live up to, but it’s going to be a challenge we’ll enjoy seeing. With any luck, we’ll get to see other just as iconic moments like this, though that may be a stretch.
Victor Newman is definitely one of a kind, and there’s no denying he and Eric Braeden deserve every accolade they’ve received and then some.
Of course, with all that being said he’s up against stiff competition like Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) who had more than her share of iconic moments, come backs, and rivalries.
