Here we are, day four in the Rivalry themed week and CBS “The Young and the Restless Spoilers are all set for another throwback spoiler. This time, we’re going back to June 21, 1999 and an epic confrontation between Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Few pairings are capable to getting the blood pumping and the smiles going faster or better than seeing these two square off, and they never disappoint.

Victor’s tantrum
As epic as the scene between these two are, it’s difficult to consider Victor’s part as anything more than a tantrum. Sure, he was showing that he didn’t intend to go away and he’d refused to be beaten. This involved insulting Jack, breaking the portrait over a chair, and then breaking a pencil to demonstrate what he intended to do to Jack.
After Victor lest, Jack took a moment to wonder if that’s how his father felt when he lost Jabot to Victor years earlier, and that brought things full circle.
To this point, the two had warred over women — Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) especially — and their respective companies, and neither of them ever gave up or admitted defeat. It’s what makes a rivalry great, and these two are old pros when it comes to laying the leather on each other. After decades of standing toe to toe, they’ve developed a mutual respect and friendship that always has their competitive juiced bubbling underneath.
Times change, but rivalries don’t
Over the years, the families have grown comfortable with each other enough to intermix and even marry. But even with open hostilities over, the underlying tension remains, waiting for the next generation to ignite a new war between the two dominant families in Genoa City.
Of course, this doesn’t have to happen, and CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers would love to see Victor and Jack go into business together. What could be better than one more collaboration and possible dust up between the two?
Since this is highly unlikely, we’ll just have to wait for the next generation to light the fire and let the explosions rock our televisions.
The biggest question to this is, will they be worthy of Victor and Jack’s best confrontations? We hope so, but few ever really reach the level of the masters no matter how hard they try.
Who do you think has proven the better of the other, or are Victor and Jack on equal footing? Let us know in the comments, and remember to check back with CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
