AEW Dynamite continues and now it’s that time. Sugar Dunkerton, aka Suge D aka Pineapple Pete makes his way out and rolls all across the ring, looking all too happy to be here and even get loads of pyro on his way out! Just amazing. He will be facing off with Chris Jericho of all people. Jericho has the rest of Inner Circle with him but for once they don’t look in the best of shape, with Sammy in his neck brace and Santana and Ortiz selling the effects of their loss. I’m glad he felt the need to bring his entire stable with him for this match with Pineapple Pete. Jericho even comes out with a Pineapple Pete t-shirt.
Pineapple Pete vs. Chris Jericho
They come face to face as the match begins. Jericho with a receipt slapping him in the face. Pete smacks him back and pounds him right in to the corner and he’s going to town! Whip to the opposite corner, charging back elbow! Whip to the opposite corner, charging flying back elbow! He’s feeling it! Charges buuuut there’s the Judas Effect.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Yeah at the end of the day this wasn’t gonna go Pete’s way. This was also filmed the same night as that crazy street fight so it’s really not shocking Jericho wasn’t really up for double duty in a situation like that.
Chris Jericho gets on the mic and says now that the threat of Pineapple Pete has been dealt with it’s time to deal with the Elite. Except he’s not sure the Elite are even a thing anymore. We haven’t seen them together as a group in weeks. Claims Hangman Page quite the business and is out picking berries somewhere. Meanwhile the Young Bucks are sitting at home pouting about how great the Inner Circle is. But they’re honorable men. He has Sammy Guevara agree to this and then say it in Spanish, calling themselves El Honorabulo. Jericho then challenges the Elite to a match of his own design, the Stadium Stampede match and it’s going to be a follow-up to last week’s street fight – but this one’s gonna be in an 80,000 seat football stadium!
Says he’ll wait for the Elite’s answer. Vanguard 1 flies in to respond, holding an Inner Circle shirt. Jericho says he’s had warrants for Vanguard’s arrest in several states. Asks if he has the Elite’s answer. He holds the mic up to it and we see it’s POV where the screen reads “We accept”. Jericho then asks if he has the answer to his other question, his offer for joining the Inner Circle. But he claims even if he has thought more about it, it’s too late because they have their sixth man and it’s a baseball bat. They take the baseball bat to Vanguard 1 and absolutely tear it to pieces. Considering how fragile drones famously are, it seems like incredible overkill. Matt Hardy rushes to the ring and the Inner Circle bail, allowing him to dramatically collapse to his knees and try and pick up the pieces of his fallen comrade.
