Cody Rhodes Confirms That Non-AEW Talent Can Challenge For This Title
The world of wrestling has many incredible stars just waiting for their chance to shine on a major stage. AEW has been great for this with their show AEW Dark, which in recent months has focused on AEW stars facing independant talent. This has gotten people like Suge D aka Pineapple Pete more exposure than ever, with him facing Chris Jericho himself on an episode of Dynamite. However, no one from outside AEW got more shine than Jeff Cobb. Cobb was brought in by The Inner Circle to brutalize Jon Moxley, in what was one of the best matches since Dynamite began.
This might change soon, as Cody has confirmed that this challenge will be open to anyone in wrestling who wants a shot. When asked about this on Twitter, he simply replied yes.
Who Can We Expect To See Take Advantage Of This?
The wrestling world has a huge pool of talented free agents since WWE culled their roster. We could see people like Curtis Axel, Rusev, Zack Ryder, Heath Slater, Lio Rush and EC3 make their AEW debuts in this way. Brian Pillman Jr. also expressed interest in a shot at the title, replying to the initial tweet from Cody. If nothing else, this is going to be a fantastic way to see how crowds react to new talent, and how they hang at a top level.
Who do you want to see come to AEW and challenge Cody for the TNT Championship? Will we even get a chance to see more than Jungle Boy challenge for this new championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
