WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Tonight, the Viking Raiders and the Street Profits are going to… go… golfing. I know, I know, contain your excitement. Meanwhile Seth Rollins has Rey Mysterio’s mask backstage. He smiles into the camera and says tonight is a night of celebration because the Monday Night Messiah is here and he is better than he has ever been. That’s all thanks to one man, Rey Mysterio. We see a replay of Seth’s attack on Mysterio’s eye two weeks ago. Hilariously forced booing after the video ends. Seth says Rey took him to a dark, dark place. But he chose to be sacrificed for the greater good, so valiantly. He can’t imagine the pain that Rey went through, his eye pressed against those steel steps, his cornea pressing back into his head, his blood vessels popping… he can’t imagine how bad that must’ve been for his family, his son Dominik watching at home.
Seth says he doesn’t know what his next act will be but if that act was Rey’s final act as a WWE superstar than it was a couragous one, because it allows us to move forward to the future. Buddy Murphy and Austin Theory appear behind him. Seth says that under his guidance, their ceilings are unlimited. Buddy says he faced obstacle after obstacle after obstacle throughout his career, he needed guidance. He needed the Monday Night Messiah and that’s Seth Rollins. He thanks Seth.
Theory says when he came to Raw he thought he had friends. But when they abandoned him, the Monday Night Messiah found him. He thanks Seth for that. Rollins tells them they’re both so very welcome but tonight they will make examples out of Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black and show the world what happens when you stand in the way of the Monday Night Messiah.
Elsewhere we hear from Charlotte Flair. She says she is the most consistent and prolific Women’s Champion in WWE. Says she raises the bar for every female in this division and no one else compares. Asuka dances her way in front of her with the title. She mocks Charlotte in Japanese and tells her that red is not her color. Walks off laughing as Charlotte looks appalled.
The crowd is a big step up for sure but I gotta say, it’s hilariously phony how they’re being handled, they definitely have a script. It basically sounds the same as it would’ve if they just piped in noise. Still a major improvement though.
