Three Surefire Future AEW Champions
In All Elite Wrestling, the AEW Championship is the undisputed top prize. With only two champions so far, the belt has been slowly building it’s legacy. Chris Jericho & Jon Moxley have started this legacy, but who will continue it? AEW has built a very strong roster, but spotlight on a few specific talents has them looking like surefire picks to hold the belt going forward. Outside of obvious picks like Hangman Page & Kenny Omega, here are three men ready to have the spotlight.
Former AEW Tag Team Champion, Scorpio Sky
First we have the youngest member of S.C.U, and a former AEW Tag Team Champion in Scorpio Sky. AEW is his first major job in professional wrestling, and the 37 year old has wasted no time showing he will be a top star. He unsuccessfully challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW Championship after being the first man to pin ‘Le Champion in the company during a defense of the tag titles. Combine that early rub with the recent video packages telling his story, and you have our first surefire future AEW Champion, and could be the first to hold both the Tag and World Championships.
MJF Is Better Than You
Second, we have a man who is better than you, and you know it. While he is currently fighting a deadly series of injuries, including a hangnail and a cut after a shaving accident, he will eventually find his way back into the ring. The top heel in all of AEW, he is likely next in line to win the championship from Jon Moxley, and has been heavily pushed as a top star since the start of AEW. His win over Cody at AEW Revolution put him high on the rankings, which is a sure sign that big things are coming for MJF.
‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry
Finally, we have a man built for success in professional wrestling. At only 22, Jungle Boy already has the good looks, charisma and in ring ability that a champion needs. If he had a bit more muscle mass, he would already look like a proper world champion, but that will come in time. Much like Scorpio Sky, Jungle Boy has been elevated due to a match with Chris Jericho. On one of the last episodes of Dynamite in 2019, Jericho would face the man with the worst record in AEW who happened to be Jungle Boy. He said he would win in less than 10 minutes, but Jungle Boy survived and forced a time limit draw. Since that day, people have wanted a rematch, which would truly start the rise of Jungle Boy towards the AEW Championship.
