On this past episode of Monday Night RAW, Andrade would lose the United States Championship. This ended his reign at 151 days with 5 defenses, with Apollo Crews finally ending this reign that started at Madison Square Garden. He made some history, like defending the championship in a ladder match for the first time in Monday Night RAW history alongside Rey Mysterio. However, it is now time to move on, what could be next for Andrade?
Challenging Drew McIntyre For The WWE Championship
While you would think being defeated for a midcard title would send you down the card, it is often different. They are usually a stepping stone to the world titles within WWE. This very well could be the case of Andrade, who has clear confidence from management in WWE, being shown by him not being stripped of his title during his 30 day suspension. He has been clashing against Drew McIntyre lately, with their previous history in NXT highlighted, but Andrade lost every time.
We could chalk this up to Andrade getting comfortable during his time as United States Champion, but now with him no longer holding that title; Andrade will be hungry and more vicious than ever. Should McIntyre overcome Lashley at Backlash, we could see Andrade step up as his next challenger.
Andrade & Angel Garza Chasing The Tag Team Championships
While there is some tension between Angel Garza & Andrade, both managed by Zelina Vega, they were originally set to face The Street Profits at Wrestlemania 36. Andrade would be replaced by Austin Theory after an injury sidelined Andrade. They never got another chance at these championships, and with Andrade’s waist a bit more exposed, this could very well change. A tag team loss could also be what it takes for their tension to cause the team to implode and go their seperate ways. That alone would make for a very good singles feud, and could serve as a launching point for another potential mega-star in Angel Garza.
These are just two possible paths for Andrade to take in the coming months. His future remains bright despite his recent loss to Apollo Crews, and more gold will be coming into his possession. What do you think is next for the former champion? Let us know in the comment section down below.
