CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers here with a throwback spoiler for a powerful episode that helped Heather Tom win three Daytime Emmy Awards — Younger Actress, Supporting Actress, and Lead Actress.
Coming to us from August 5, 2011, we get to see her really bring something extra to the role, and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) suffers a heart attack after Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) thought it was a good idea to tell her that Katie’s husband, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), and Taylor’s daughter, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) have been having an affair.
But not just any affair, oh no. That would be too easy and expected. This one is an emotional affair, and that’s one CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers don’t remember seeing this used on daytime television before, so please let us know in the comments if it’d been done before.
Whatever the type of affair, it had the undesired effect and sent Katie to the hospital. Definitely not a fun way to go out.
As always, the fun doesn’t end here.
Tough as leather
While her sister recuperates, the Siren, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), approached Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) and his wife, Taylor. In not to gentle terms, she demanded they reign in their daughter, Steffy, and make her back off of Bill so he and Katie can repair the damage that’s been done and so Katie can heal under the care of her husband.
CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoiler have to be honest in seeing the Siren stand up like this considering she’d done the same thing to Katie a couple of times. But it’s good to see she has her moments of moral clarity and does what’s right. Of course, it won’t last; it never does.
Not knowing what her sister is up to, Katie displays a determination that’s become her hallmark since this episode aired and snuck out of the hospital despite being in serious ill health. She had one target and that was Steffy, so she made her way to Steffy’s loft.
Steffy was more than surprised to see Katie standing at her doorstep. CBS “The Bold and the Beautiful” Spoilers feel she was super intimidated as Katie brushed aside her concern and confronted her with the truth that Bill would never be with her.
The fun part about this is, for the most part, Katie’s right. Bill loves Katie, and though he may slip occasionally, especially when Brooke’s involved, he always finds his way back to Katie. She’s got a permanent place in his heart, and he won’t let her go without a major fight.
Speaking of Bill…
Bill has been beside himself since learning about Katie’s heart attack, so he rushed to the hospital to see her. Unfortunately, when he arrived at her room he was greeted with an empty bed. Not knowing where she was or what might’ve happened to her, he lashes out at the nearest person, which just so happens to be his son, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
He proceeded to scream at Liam, demanding to know where Katie was. He may have been close to using some hospital instruments to pry the information from Liam when Katie arrived back from her sojourn.
Grateful to see her back and relatively okay, Bill was more than happy to sit down and talk to her. During their conversation, they worked out their problems with Katie telling him, “You shouldn’t have been with Steffy.”
This episode is great simply for Heather Tom’s performance, and it’s one that’ll never grow old.
