Recovery
At a family dinner, John and the rest weren’t able to ignore the feeling in the air that something more was going on. After some prodding, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) admitted is was more than just a dinner, and he started explaining how he never got over having a hand in his father, John, losing Jabot. Had he not pushed for the company to go public to gain more capital, Victor never would’ve been able to buy up so many shares and take control.
He admitted to spending every day trying to work out how to get the company back, and when John said Victor would never hand it over Jack told him he had. After handing over the signed papers for John and the others to see, Jack explained that Victor had agreed after he explained what losing the company meant to John, but he also gave up everything, including his severance package.
With his emotions in overdrive, John broke down, saying he never expected this to happen.
It’s a really awesome and heartfelt moment CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers loves and intends to watch a few times.
Making amends
Victor was busy dictating to his secretary when Ashley walked in, surprising him. He said he expected her to be with her family celebrating, and not looking for him.
Ashley admitted she wanted to thank him for allowing her father to reclaim his company. In an added twist, Victor admitted that he did do it for John, but also for her.
It’s another touching moment as it allows them to make amends for how they’d been treating each other leading up to that point. It’s also something Ashley mentions when she tells him that fighting with him was exhilarating, and that if she had a choice, she’d want to fight with him instead of living with another person in peace.
When she tried to leave, Victor stopped her and pulled her close. In a whisper, he told her to stay in touch, then let her go.
It’s a cool way to end the Abbott segment of the episode with everyone happy and feeling good. Plus, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers never tire of a happy ending for some of our favorites.
