For years now, 29 year old indy wrestler David Starr has been wanting the professional wrestling industry to change. He’s been blackballed from companies like WWE for wanting to unionize the industry, and Ring Of Honor for putting their owners Sinclair Media on blast. Now, he’s went ahead and finally started the revolution he always wanted in wrestling, and killed his career in the process. David Starr by all accounts was an incredibly abusive man behind the scenes, and that has now come to light.
David Starr Was The Origin Of The #SpeakOut Movement
Right now if you go on Twitter as a wrestling fan, your timeline will be flooded with the #SpeakOut movement. Countless women and men are sharing their stories, about how wrestlers and others involved in the industry sexually, physically or emotionally abused them. From Matt Riddle, Marty Scurll, Jimmy Havoc, Jordan Devlin and more, countless hard stories have been brought to light. This all started when a Twitter user @slaymysterio aka Tori would open Pandoras Box, saying that Starr sexually abused her and others, and kept screenshots to blackmail them into silence.

Starr responded to these claims saying he was an “emotionally immature dickhead”, while also denying any claims put against him. He has since deactived his social media accounts, after his apologizes simply dug him a deeper hole.
Titles Have Been Stripped From Starr As Wrestling Moves Past Him
Prior to all this, David Starr was a well enough respected wrestler. He held the OTT Championship, and was going to defend against Jon Moxley before COVID-19 struck, but that title has been stripped from him. Starr was also the Southside Champion for Revolution Pro, which is also now vacant. TNT Extreme Wrestling followed suit, Beyond Wrestling have said he will not working more with them, and more will likely follow.
He was already unwanted by any major companies due to him being a loose cannon, and now everyone else will think more than twice before bringing him onboard. Practically overnight, he became as diserable as Alberto El Patron.
David Starrs career as a wrestler is likely over, and while he was talented in the ring, there are people just as talented who don’t have as many skeletons in their closet. What are your thoughts on this situation? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
