Drew McIntyre def. MVP | WWE Raw Results (6/1/2020)

WWE Monday Night Raw continues. We now have but the main event left, it’s MVP taking on WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a singles match. But before then, out comes Bobby Lashley to the ring in his gear looking for all the world like he’s about to have a match himself. MVP is out here and basically skips his own ballin’ entrance to instead bump forearms with Lashley. At 9:54 PM my time, the champ makes his way into the ring. This is uh… not gonna be a marathon match. In fact it’s still not starting yet, Lana’s theme hits and out she strides down the ramp. McIntyre seems pleased with this, Lashley is unamused.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. MVP (Non-title)

Bell rings at 9:56 PM and McIntyre attacks MVP, batters him into the corner. Montel shoves him away but Drew wins out the brawl, big knife edge chop to the chest. Pulls him out but MVP reverses a whip to send him to the opposite corner. Drew bounces off the buckle, MVP with a hip toss – but it’s blocked! McIntyre with a big lariato! Stalks him, nails him with the Glasgow Kiss! It forces him to take a powder. On the outside, Drew faces off with Bobby Lashley! Off the distraction MVP posts McIntyre, then drives him into the plexiglass above the barricade! He throws him into the ring, hits the Playa’s Boot for… a 1 count!! They really like having McIntyre do this now. Drew fights his way up, MVP hits the ropes but McIntyre stops him with a big boot! Goes up top, Flying Forearm – and a kip up! MVP rolls towards the corner, McIntyre stalks in the opposite corner… before he can go for the Claymore, Lashley pulls MVP to the outside. But then McIntyre surprises them both with a flip tope that wipes them out! Wild. He throws MVP back into the ring aaaaand here’s the countdown. 3! 2! 1! And the Claymore gets the obvious win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Before McIntyre’s music can even hit, Lashley rushes into the ring and puts him into the Full Nelson. And as McIntyre struggles… we… fade to black.

Okay, like, really? We were pressed for time here? Why was this segment rushed from start to finish and cut off like that when this was a pre-taped show that was filled to the brim with replays added in post? Also what was gained from Lana being out there? She did absolutely nothing. Did they do something that they decided was inappropriate here and opted to end the show before it happened? I dunno that’s all I can think of, this ending was odd.
