This was the best match of the night as Madman Fulton dominated Eddie Edwards through most of the match, but Edwards fought back to make it interesting and score a coupe of near falls.
Since joining with Ace Austin, Fulton appears even more unstoppable then when he was with oVe. In fact, Austin even stated that he’d help Fulton reach new heights in Impact, following Austin winning the Impact Heavyweight Championship, of course.

Brutal and elegant
This match reminded me of Diesel and Shawn Michaels in the WWE back in the 90s. It was more than an outsized opponent finding a way to compete, and in many ways this match was as elegant as it was brutal.
Every time Edwards seemed to get a breather of the upper hand, Fulton would rise, looking just as eager to continue fighting as when the match first started.
Some of the more impressive moments included Fulton’s one handed choke toss that sent Edwards out of the ring to splat on the floor. This was followed by a neckbreaker in the ropes and a series of hideous looking head slams into the turnbuckle.
Edwards wasn’t done, and seemed to turn the tables with a reverse suplex and a suicide dive through the ropes that nearly took both men out. Well, it looked like it until Fulton stood up unfazed.
In fact, Fulton walked into Edwards as he chopped at his chest, but Edwards hit him with a right that managed to daze him long enough for Edwards to hit his Blue Thunder Bomb, but Fulton kicked out on two.
Edwards continued to press his advantage, but Austin tried to interfere. Edwards nailed him and sent him flying from the apron. Fulton kicked out of a Tiger Driver, and Edwards second attempt at a Boston Knee Party was countered into an inverted facebuster for the pin and Madman Futon’s first win with Ace Austin.
Aces & Eights Return?
Before the show went off the air (or twitch account), D’Lo Brown was talking with someone over his computer and mentioned he was “getting the band back together.:
He closed his computer and left, his Aces & Eights jacket remaining on the back of the chair he’d been sitting in since earlier in the show. This is a cool tease that is making Slammiversary a must see event, especially given all the hints they’ve been dropping about EC3 and now Doc Gallows.
This is going to be one wild ride.
