John Skyler Suffers Major Injury During AEW Dark

There is something in the water down in Jacksonville, with AEW having another leg injury putting someone out of action. First it was Britt Baker, then it was Kris Statlander, now ‘The Southern Savior’ John Skyler has suffered a major injury during a match on AEW Dark. While facing Evil Uno & Stu Greyson of The Dark Order, Skyler would tear the ACL, MCL & PCL in his right knee. His knee is all but destroyed, and major surgery will be in order.

John Sklyer Speaks About This Injury On Facebook

Injuries happen in wrestling, and this was absolutely a freak accident. Sklyer would speak on his facebook page about how after 12 years of no major injuries in this dangerous industry, his luck ran out.

“Last Wednesday, in what can only be described as an unavoidable freak accident (nobody’s fault), in one fell swoop….I suffered tears in my ACL, MCL, and PCL in my right knee…that will sadly, keep me from doing what I love for a little while (projected to be around six months). Decisions on inevitable surgery and rehab will be made early next week.

I’ve had to think long and hard about what I wanted to actually type out…my heart is heavy, knowing that I won’t be able to do what I love the most for a little while…but like a lot of things over the last few months of my life…this wasn’t my choice.”

He would go on to thank the medical team of AEW, who were quick to take care of him after the match was over, as he somehow finished the match and was the one to take Dark Orders finisher.

Skyler wouldn’t have his humor broken, as he’d reply to a fan asking how he walked out of the ring following this match, simply replying “….I didn’t”

AEW Should Help Take Care Of Him

AEW will hopefully step up and help Skyler in these hard times, as despite not having an official AEW contract, the injury happened in their ring. We here at The Overtimer wish Skyler a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back in an AEW ring to get payback against The Dark Order.
