Mustafa Ali Moved To WWE Monday Night RAW Roster

While you won’t see him much on TV these days, Mustafa Ali was a member of the Smackdown live roster. After leaving the Cruiserweight Division, he seemed primed for huge things, even getting a pinfall victory over then WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, and getting a title shot alongside Kevin Owens in early 2019. He was meant to be in the Elimination Chamber that year, a spot that would be taken by Kofi Kingston, leading to KofiMania. Injuries halted his progress, and when he returned later in the year, he’d be paired with Shorty G as an ill-fated tag team. Now, he’s reportedly done with Smackdown, and has been quietly moved to Monday Night RAW.

Mustafa Ali Was The Most Likely Pick For The Smackdown Hacker

With Ali being moved to RAW, this takes him out of the running as the Smackdown Hacker. His entrance attires imagery would match up with that of the hackers, his distrorted voice was used for some of the vingettes with the hacker, and who better to fight for justice than Ali? It all made perfect sense, but you can’t be the Smackdown Hacker while competing on Monday Night RAW. It’s likely he was intended to be using this new character, but he’s been out of action since February, when COVID-19 hit. He was one of the few to choose to stay home without repurcusions, like Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn after him. However, this character could be dropped now, without the man behind it in action.

Ali Will Make A Great United States Champion

While Ali is a Cruiserweight in size, he has an uncanny ability to connect with fans and get them on his side. He’s one of the few natural babyfaces in WWE, which is something they’ve used to great effect thus far with him. Because of this, once he returns he could enter into the stacked midcard of RAW, and have some classics with the likes of Andrade, Angel Garza, Austin Theory, Apollo Crews, and others who’s names do not start with the letter A. He’d be a great man to bring the United State Champion back to the status of a workhorse title, after some less than stellar reigns in recent years.

While he could be placed right into new title feuds, it is also possible that Ali gets lost in the shuffle, and we start seeing him on WWE Main Event before long. Do you think Ali will work well on Monday Night RAW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
