In WWE, there is one man who has potential to be a star but has never really gotten to show it. This is Mojo Rawley, who has hit his highest peak in WWE as 24/7 Champion. He was set for great things alongside his best-friend Gronk, even being moved to Smackdown to join him. With Gronk now gone from WWE once again, the 24/7 Championship back on Monday Night RAW and seemingly no direction: what could bet next for Mojo Rawley?
Being Friends With Gronk Likely Saved His Job
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE would release a large chunk of their roster including names like Rusev, EC3, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Heath Slater, and more. It is easy to imagine that if WWE didn’t still have Gronk on the roster at this time, Rawley would have been done with them. He has much less value than some of the men released, and has not really been doing much since 2020 began. But at the time, he was likely planned to work alongside Gronk when he made his in ring debut for WWE. With this now not as option, but WWE also potentially going back to normal and starting to rehire some of the released men, Mojo could have had the right friend and in the right place, saving his job.
Mojo Rawley Needs To Drop His Hype Gimmick
Ever since his days in NXT, Mojo Rawley has had the gimmick of being hyped up all the time. This was the basis of a tag team with Zack Ryder, and he’s stuck with it ever since. He did try something new in 2019 when he started talking to mirrors and going crazy, but that didn’t go anywhere. While for some, turning up your personality to 11 is all you need to make a good wrestling gimmick, but this has proven to be a complete failure for Rawley. If he just focused on his size and power, and became an aggressive heel, he would be very believable. Pair him up with someone like King Corbin, and WWE could have a team that would be as hard hitting as the APA of old.
Do you think Mojo Rawley will ever accomplish anything major within WWE, or should WWE have cut his contract alongside the others? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
