WWE Monday Night Raw Recap (6/29) – Mixed Tag Match – Sasha Banks and Dolph Ziggler beat Asuka and Drew McIntyre

Backstage, Ziggler is trying to make the case to Bayley and Banks that they can win, and he watches plenty of wrestling and thinks they’re great.

They laugh at him, and point out the last time they saw him he was on Smackdown losing to Otis and Mandy Rose.

Bayley points out for him to not screw up their match for Banks.

Mixed Tag Match – Drew McIntyre and Asuka vs. Dolph Ziggler and Sasha Banks

Bayley joined the announce team as McIntyre and Ziggler start the match off.

Ziggler tried to grab McIntyre’s leg, but McIntyre tossed him across the ring and back to his corner

After another toss, McIntyre levels Ziggler with a single chop.

Ziggler manages to hit with the Famouser, but McIntyre kicked out before a count of one.

After being tossed back in his corner, Ziggler tagged Banks in, forcing McIntyre to tag in Asuka.

Banks doesn’t fare much better, and she and Ziggler are regrouping as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, Ziggler is on McIntyre’s back attempting a sleeper hold twice, but is tossed off both times.

Ziggler started to gain some momentum as he counters some of McIntyre’s moves and tags in Banks.

Asuka taks the fight to Banks, hitting with some kicks and a sliding knee but Banks kicked out of the pin attempt at two.

Bayley distracts Asuka with a goofy face (seriously) and Banks gains the upper hand.

After a couple of near falls, Banks focused on a stretch hold to wear down Asuka, but Asuka counters with a double knee.

They tag in McIntyre and Ziggler, and McIntyre manhandles Ziggler, and managed to block Ziggler’s tornado DDT attempt.

Banks tagged herself in, and while she yelled at McIntyre to get out of the ring, Asuke nailed her with a kick for a near pin.

Asuka counted the Bank Statement, and Banks then countered the Asuka Lock for a pin and the win.

This was a pretty entertaining episode overall, and we’re curious to see where they go from here.

While this did virtually nothing to hype up McIntyre and Ziggler’s match aside from showing Ziggler will have to get some help or do something underhanded, this did a great job of pushing Banks and Asuka. It’s going to be fun to see what these two do over the next three weeks, as well as what Banks accomplishes on NXT this Wednesday.
