NXT Takeover: In Your House is this weekend, and Imperium needs challengers for their NXT Tag Team Championships. While Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch have staked their claim, it isn’t set in stone. They would face Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong of Undisputed Era, as well as a mystery team for the right to face Imperium. This mystery team would be none other than Breezango! Fandango was on the shelf due to an UCL injury, but is back to rejoin Tyler Breeze. This came much to the absolute delight of Beth Phoenix on commentary. Edge might need to come to NXT to collect his wife. Who could leave as number one contender?
Tyler Breeze Came To Win
Action would start quick as Bobby Fish sent a boot into the gut of Danny Burch, but Tyler Breeze would help as they looked to remove Undisputed Era early. They’d work together for some double teams, but this alliance would falter when Burch went for a pinfall. Roderick Strong would run into a spinebuster from Breeze and Burch would clothesline him over the top rope. He was not legal however, and Fish would run into an enzuguri from Breeze sending him to join his partner. A rollup from Breeze on Burch would get a two count. Oney Lorcan & Fandango would come in for a face off joining their partners as a commercial break came.
Undisputed Era Have Unmatched Ring Control
When action came back, Breeze and Burch would be stomping Strong in the corner before he rallied back before being stopped by a Supermodel Kick from Breeze. Breeze would be dropped by a middle rope dropkick, and Burch would continue beating up Strong. Strong would find another opening after throwing Burch into Breeze, before going for a backbreaker on Breeze as Burch was taken out on the outside by Fish. Breeze would be isolated, and Burch would be unable to find his way back into the ring. A sound strategy from the experts.
Breezango Find Themselves In A Title Match
Once Burch found his way back into the ring, chaos would ensue. This allowed Fandango and Lorcan to make their way back into the ring, both fresh after spending the match on the apron. Fandango had no sign of ring rust as he ran up Bobby Fish to hit Strong with a Tornado DDT before hitting the Falcon Arrow. Fish would break the fall, but Lorcan would go on a tear with hard chops, hitting everything that moved if it wasn’t wearing black & white stripes. Fandango would stop his rush by backdropping him over the top rope onto the rest of the people in the match before being sent over the top rope by Burch into the same crowd.
This left Burch & Breeze in the ring, neither man legal so a fall could not occur. A supermodel kick would drop Burch, as Undisputed Era got back in the ring before noticing Dexter Lumis stalking them once again from ringside, sending shivers down their spines. This distraction would lead to Breeze hiting the Beauty Shot on Fish, before he’d meet a leg drop from Fandango for the win.
This is an upset for sure, but Lorcan & Burch have had plenty of botched chances at tag team gold, and Breezango deserve some spotlight. Will Imperium be able to retain? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
