One championship. Three of the best NXT has to offer. A triple threat match for the NXT North American Championship, and the right to enter a winner takes all match with Adam Cole in two weeks. Keith Lee is the reigning champion, Finn Balor was once the longest reigning NXT Champion of all time, and Johnny Gargano was the first ever triple crown champion in NXT history.
This could be the main event of an NXT Takeover event, but instead it’s the main event of an episode of NXT TV. Who would walk away as the NXT North American Champion?
Keith Lee Shows His Dominance
The match would begin with Gargano fleeing the ring, leaving Lee & Balor alone. Lee would manhandle Balor, and Gargano would come into the ring to suffer the same fate. They would have to work together to cut down Lee, but they’ve been at each others throats for months now making that unlikely. But Lee doesn’t have to be pinned to lose this match, which could be their only chance.
Coming back from commercial break, Lee would still be in control, and hit Gargano with the Grizzly Magnum chop, swatting him away. Balor would hop onto his back for a choke, and as soon as Lee got Balor off, Gargano hopped on. Lee would fling Gargano off, only for Balor to hop back on and force Lee to take a knee. He’d fight back up, and drive Balor into the corner.
Lee Is Finally Dropped
All three men would start to throw forearms, but Balor would rush into one and be caught in the arm of Lee. He’d pick up Gargano too, and throw both over his shoulders. This would leave him catching his breath, but still in control. Gargano would try to chop Lee down by the knee but would be scooped off the ground. Balor would hop into the sleeper hold, and Gargano would grab a knee bar. Lee would break both holds. Bask in his glory.
Moving to the outside of the ring, Lee would look to bodycheck Gargano into the plexiglass, only to be caught with a Slingblade by Balor. Gargano would hit a rolling senton off the apron, and work with Balor to send him into the apron. For the first time in the match, Lee would be down.
Fast Paced Action Aplenty From Gargano & Balor
Back in the ring, Balor would throw strikes at Gargano, Lee still out of the picture. This is their best chance to end the match in their favour. Gargano would hit a slingshot spear for a near fall, showing signs of the old Gargano. He’d go for One Final Beat, only to be punched in the face. Balor would choose to dive onto Lee instead, keeping him down. Gargango would be back in the ring, but Balor would hit him with The Final Cut. He’d hit a slingblade, but when he’d look for the shotgun dropkick, Lee would rise up out of frame and throw himself over the top rope onto both men.
Back in the ring, Lee would throw heavy strikes and squish both men in the corner. Balor would trip and legs and hit the double stomp, before locking in a sleeper hold again. A superkick to Balor from Gargano would let him hit One Final Beat after breaking the submission, but Lee broke up the pin and saved the match.
Keith Lee Is As Smart As He Is Strong
Lee would be on the outside now, and Gargano would dive onto him. This would work, but a dive onto Balor would leave him caught in position for the 1916 DDT, but a Pounce from Lee would save Gargano. Back in the ring, Lee looked for the Spirit Bomb, but Balor would counter with a double stomp. He’d look for the shotgun dropkick, and be hit with a superkick.
Balor would come back quick and kick Gargano into Lee. He’d almost hit the Coup De Grace, but be stopped. Lee would hit the Big Bang Catastrophe to Gargano, and Balor would try to break it up, with Lee dodging the stomp. This took out Gargano, and left Balor open to be hit with the BBC, giving Lee the win.
Keith Lee would be met by Adam Cole in the ring, and in two weeks they’ll meet again with everything on the line. Who will become double champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
