During the interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament, Tony Nese would be unable to get a win. During a backstage interview, Isiah Scott would blast him, saying that if he went win-less in the tournament? He’d just quit wrestling. Nese would fire back by shoving Swerve into the ring steps before his match with Jack Gallagher during the tournament. This week on NXT, they finally settle their differences in the ring. Who would win?
These Cruiserweights Will Wait No More
While Nese posed as the bell rang, Swerve came in hot with a double leg takedown with some ground and pound. Taking this to the outside, Swerve would be highly aggressive and look to get revenge by throwing Nese into the stairs, before having his eyes raked.
Once he got back in the ring, Nese would deliver a back elbow and take control of Swerve. A beatdown would ensue, but a two count would be all he got. Both men were being nasty with strikes in the early going of this one, with the animosity between both men being very clear. A hard irish whip into the corner would send Swerve crashing to the mat, before he’d be locked in some body scissors. Swerve would look to fight out with some ground and pound, only to be caught in a guillotine choke. The power of Swerve let him power out into a Brainbuster, getting him some room to breathe.
Isiah Scott Takes Control
A leg trip as Nese slipped to the outside would give him control once again, and he would look for his springboard moonsault but would miss. Nese would rush towards Swerve and be dumped over the top rope, before taking a pump kick from Swerve. He’d consider putting Nese into the ring, before eyeing the stairs and throwing Nese into them hard. Swerve would chase Nese into the corner, but after the referee broke it up a cheap shot would stun Swerve. He’d fight back into control before Jack Gallagher would come down to the ring. Gallagher has clashed with both men in recent weeks, so neither man could count on help. The distraction to Swerve who was on the middle rope would almost prove fatal, but a quick counter into a rollup would find him the victor.
After the win, Gallagher and Nese would chase Isiah Scott off, showing who Gallagher was to side with. Will this partnership last? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
