Last week, we heard from Bray Wyatt for the first time in weeks after he lost to Braun Strowman at WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view. What was cool to note about that was Wyatt wrestled him as Wyatt, not the Fiend. This was because Wyatt wanted to bring Strowman back into the fold and not destroy him. He failed, and Strowman entered into a feud with Bobby Lashley.
During that time, we’ve been waiting to see what Wyatt would do next, so when a new Firefly Funhouse was teased, we were all ears.
Instead of Wyatt trying to manipulate Strowman, he explained how he learned how to raise the dead, and we were re-introduced to the old Bray Wyatt, head of the Wyatt family. The brief flash of a promo showed him in his chair with Strowman on one side, and Erick Rowan on the other. This is interesting given rumors that the WWE may resign Rowan, but that’s another topic.
This is the logic choice, even if none of us saw it coming, because the Fiend only comes out to play when it’s against someone that hurt Wyatt in some way. It’s also a way to look past, forget, ignore his squash match with Goldberg.
Anyway, if Wyatt’s returning to his roots, it shows he’s serious about bringing Strowman back to him, and it means the ball in in Strowman’s court now.
Strowman’s response
This isn’t hard to figure out since he already destroyed his mask when he faced Wyatt last time (he used it as a distraction as well as sending a message). Strowman has become his own man and has no interest in rejoining Wyatt anytime soon.
We expect Strowman to say he’s not afraid or worried about Wyatt since he already beat him and knows his tricks. Here’s where it could get interesting.
No matter what Strowman says, chances are Wyatt will appear either on the titantron or in the ring behind Strowman. We think the latter simply because it’s cooler and would have a greater impact on the storyline and feud. We don’t see an attack happening, but it’d also make sense given how their story has progressed to the next difficulty level.
Hope Strowman used the save point to save his progress.
Will the Monster Among Men continue to carve his own path, or will Wyatt seduce and return his Black Sheep to his flock?
