Last week we reported on the wish of El Hijo del Santo having a mask vs. mask match against Atlantis. The latter has the masks of Ultimo Guerrero, Villano III, La Sombra (Andrade Cien Almas), and Lizmark, making him the most valuable mask in all of Lucha Libre. Still, there are other legends that might want a piece of El Hijo del Santo, like Blue Demon Jr.
El Hijo del Santo said at the time:
I have read with attention the things that many of you have written to me, regarding a comment made by Atlantis, in which he would like to put his mask on the line against me. The challenge of a wrestler with such class, trajectory, and prestige, is dangerous but I would accept it with honor.
Later in the week, once again rumors appeared on social media about the match. This time around was Octagon injecting himself into the feud and Santo proposing the following:
Querido amigo @Octagon_real Que te parece esta lucha : Octagón y @fuerzagsr V:S @Atlantis_CMLL y @ElHijodelSanto Y la pareja que pierda se enfrente Máscara contra Máscara a 2 de 3 caídas sin límite de tiempo! #ECHENLEAIRE [Dear friend @Octagon_real What do you think of this match: Octagon and @fuerzagsr vs @Atlantis_CMLL and @ElHijodelSanto. And the tag team that loses, will face in a Mask versus Mask, 2 of 3 falls without time limit match! #ECHENLEAIRE]
I reported last week the prospect of such a match:
This still doesn’t mean much on the future match. A match featuring CMLL regulars, CMLL friendly wrestlers (Fuerza Guerrera), and those in exiles like Octagon and El Hijo del Santo. The creation of this match is gigantic and complex. Fans will have to wait and see what can be accomplished. If CMLL is smart, it will make the match, at least Hijo del Santo vs. Atlantis happened. It could bring a gigantic gate. We’ll have to wait and see.
Well, now is Blue Demon Jr. who wants a match with El Hijo del Santo. As Santo’s father, Blue Demon Jr.’s father was a great icon in the Lucha Libre business, movies, television, everywhere in Mexico. Blue Demon Jr. and El Hijo del Santo are arguably the heirs of the most popular luchadors in the world.
Blue Demon Jr., like El Hijo del Santo, works independently, by date. He’s not signed by any big promotion in Mexico, as he gets more money through international dates and for his popularity. He was recently to have a Disney show about him.
He said through social media:
For me it would not be impossible, we have faced each other on many occasions. Perhaps he no longer feels fit or does not want to do it for different situations, but I am in full availability that if someone is interested we can see terms and sign.
Funny enough, El Hijo del Santo responded to Blue Demon Jr. with the following on social media:
Who invited him to the party? It is rude to go where you are not invited!
A este quien lo invitó a la fiesta? Es de mala educación ir a donde no te invitan!
