DTU Mexico Postpones “Cantina Extrema” show
One of Mexico’s main deathmatch promotions, Destrucción Total Ultraviolenta (DTU) postponed its newest show, “Cantina Extrema”.
Amid the Covid-19 crisis, many Mexican promotions are reinventing themselves to provide Lucha Libre once again. Mexico City is still paralyzed, with many promotions now, doing some trials with empty arenas.
AAA and Vanguardia Lucha Libre have tried to do auto shows, the latter being canceled. For DTU, the live streaming of a show in a bar in Mexico was a new idea – Cantina Extrema. Stars like Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre’s (CMLL) Ultimo Guerrero were set to appear.

But, the show, because of the current crisis, has been postponed to August 30 – Augusta 16 was the date.
In Mexico, the coronavirus pandemic does not subside and for this reason, the DTU company decided to postpone its DTU Cantina Extrema event, which was scheduled for August 16.
Through a statement, the Tulancingo company announced the decision to postpone the event, since in Hidalgo the traffic light for COVID-19 disease is red and the authorities have canceled permits and avoided events.
“At DTU Lucha Profesional Mexicana, we have decided to act as a responsible company and despite holding events without an audience, we think of caring for each of the people who contribute to the conduct of our events … by or the event DTU Cantina Extrema reschedules its date for Sunday, August 30, 2020 “
In the state of Hidalgo, there are currently 3 thousand deaths from covid and there are 6 thousand 467 positive cases registered, and when registering 19 deaths and 159 new cases in 24 hours, the traffic light remains red.
Due to the increase of contagions in Tulancingo, the city council is very strict about security measures, they even asked for support from the National Guard to make sure that they do not open non-essential businesses.
Despite the fact that since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, DTU decided not to perform, for a couple of months it started with the concept of events without an audience and online transmission.
In the first instance, they presented Rancho en México, which was held on a real ranch and then A Cielo Abierto, which was held at a spa.
