When you look at the RAW Women’s division, most will wonder why Kairi Sane was never given a bigger role. Alongside Asuka, she’d hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, and was previously the winner of the first ever Mae Young Classic and a former NXT Women’s Champion. That’s not a bad resume, but Kairi is pound for pound one of the best wrestlers on the planet today. Much like Cesaro, she was misused within WWE, and now is looking to head back home to Japan, as per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Kairi Sane Was Going To Be Written Off TV Soon
Prior to her legitimate injury at the hands of Nia Jax, the intent was for Kairi Sane to be written off TV by Asukas Summerslam opponent. Be that Jax, Shayna Baszler, or Charlotte Flair, Kairi was going to be taken out of whoever would face Asuka at this event. This sums up her main roster time, just a sidekick for the more successful Asuka.
This will likely not play out now for two reasons. Firstly, doing an injury angle following a legitimate injury to that performer is in poor taste to say the least. Secondly, this was the plan when Paul Heyman was still in control of Monday Night RAW, and many of his plans have been scrapped with Bruce Prichard now in charge.
Going Back To Japan To Be With Her Husband
In 2019, Kairi Sane would take some time off to visit her home of Japan for her wedding, and that’s whats calling her home once again. Once her WWE contract runs out, she will be heading home to be with her husband. This also opens her up for a return to a promotion like STARDOM, where she spent the bulk of her career. Someone like Kairi returning there would help this company which suffered major losses in 2020. It would also allow her to end her career on a high note, something which isn’t likely in WWE unless she gets to have a marque match with Asuka at Summerslam.
Do you think we will be seeing much more of Kairi Sane in WWE? Should WWE have used her more during her time with the company? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
