New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) Dominion featured event began with a six-man tag between former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Great Bash Heel (GBH) [Togi Makabe/Tomoaki Honma] and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Gabriel Kidd against Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima, and Ryusuke Taguchi.
Kidd continued to impress with his lean physique, facial expressions, and aggressive in-ring style. Yet, he wasn’t able to match his veteran opponents — even under the guidance of GBH. Nagata would submit the Young Lion with the Nagata Lock II at the nine-minute and twenty-five-second mark.
The second match would feature another pair of former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions as Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii of CHAOS team with NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yota Tsuji against Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members Bushi, Sanada, and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi.
Despite seeming extremely disinterested after Evil turned on the faction, LIJ was able to take advantage of the Young Lion. They would gain victory at the ten-minute and fifteen-second mark, despite a spirited effort from Ishii and Yano’s typical mind games.
The third match saw Hiroyoshi Tenzan team with Master Wato and NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion, Yuya Uemura against Suzuki-Gun members El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Douki.
Master Wato continued to look sharp since his return from an excursion in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Douki continued to show how much he has improved since his NJPW debut in May 2019. Desperado would eventually pin Uemura at the nine-minute and forty four-second mark after an impressive showing.
The fourth match saw the CHAOS tandem of Kazuchika Okada and Hirooki Goto face Yujiro and Taiji Ishimori. Okada and Goto made the v1 challenge against the then IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Cold Darkness (Evil/Sanada) during their first reign on February 6, 2018.
However, the duo was not able to click on the night and Yujiro was able to avenge his first-round New Japan Cup defeat by pinning Goto with Pimp Juice at the nine-minute and forty-two second mark.
