Tetsuya Endo Wants To Defend DDT Openweight Championship Against Kenny Omega

Right now, Tetsuya Endo is the DDT Openweight Champion, which the top prize in the promotion he calls home. After a title defense against Yuki Ueno, he has announced his next plans. He intends to win the King Of DDT Tournament, and bring someone from the past of DDT to him. This is Kenny Omega, who is currently one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions, and the AAA Mega Champion.

If Tetsuya Endo Wins King Of DDT, He Picks His Challenger

The King Of DDT is a single elimination tournament, and the the winner will generally go on to face the Openweight Champion. However, Tetsuya Endo is entering. If he is able to make his way through the tournament and win? He can name his challenger, and he wants this to be Kenny Omega.

This is the first time in years that the reigning Openweight Champion enters the tournament, and he will not have an easy road to the finals.

Kenny Omega Has Responded To This Challenge

While in AEW, Kenny Omega is still a face, he’s seeming to go back to his anime villian like persona for this potential match. After catching wind of this potential challenger, he would say the following.

“Your title will be nothing more than another trophy to me. I’ll feel nothing when I see you and the entire locker room crying. This is what you chose for DDT and yourself.”

This is very much how Kenny Omega would have responded to a challenge during his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling. If Endo is able to bring Kenny Omega back to DDT for a match, we could see the true return of The Cleaner. He has previously held the DDT Openweight Championship for 87 days, managing 3 defenses in that short time. He beat El Generico for the title, and would lose it to Shingehiro Irie. This was all back in 2013, when Omega was still a Junior Heavyweight.

Do you think Tetsuya Endo will be able to win the King Of DDT tournament, and would Kenny Omega come to Japan for the challenge? Would Omega walk away with another top title? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
