Warhorse To Make AEW Debut Against Cody Rhodes

For weeks now, if you were on the wrestling side of Twitter, you would have seen an indy wrestler looking to make his big break. Like everyone else, he’s been paying close attention to Cody Rhodes’ excellent reign as TNT Champion, and wanted in on this action. After weeks of campaigning, and being referenced on Road To shows, it’s finally official. Warhorse has a chance to rule Cody Rhodes ass.

Warhorse Is The Reigning Independent Wrestling Champion

While he will defend this coming weekend against GCW Champion Ricky Shane Page, Warhorse has held the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship for 307 days. He’s defended against just about anyone who has wanted a title shot, from Orange Cassidy to Kylie Rae. This is what he uses to prove he’s not a gimmick wrestler like an Orange Cassidy or Danhausen, but rather a workhorse type.

His gimmick is very pronounced however, being that of a heavy metal enthusiast. He wears a denim vest full of patches for legendary bands like Slayer, Venom, and many more, and wears face paint that looks like that of The Road Warriors. A unique look and promo style has taken him to the top, but even without that, he was always set to rise. This is his big break, and we can expect to see one of his best matches ever.

Cody Rhodes Has Been Elevating Just About Everyone He Steps Into The Ring With

Since becoming TNT Champion, Cody Rhodes has been on one of the best runs of his career. While he’s constantly winning, his opponents are coming out looking better than ever. Men like Eddie Kingston & Ricky Starks got major breaks against him, while Marq Quen & Sonny Kiss got to show just how good they are in this ring.

Rhodes even managed to pull a very good match out of Jake Hager for the title, his best match in many years. That takes something very special, after Dustin Rhodes & Jon Moxley failed to do the same in their major matches with the brute of The Inner Circle.

Because of this, we can imagine that Warhorse is going to get a chance to prove he belongs in a major company like All Elite Wrestling. He’s put seven years of hard work in on the indies, found the character that got eyes on him, and now has the chance to show everyone what a select few already knows: Warhorse rules ass.
