On what is being dubbed ‘Tag Team Appreciation’ night, it’s only right that we see the AEW Tag Team Championships defended. The reigning champions are Hangman Page & Kenny Omega, who have taken down every team who has challenged them. Now Jungle Boy & Luchasarus get their shot.
The last time they met Kenny, he showed signs of his cleaner persona when he’d brutalize Marko Stunt, giving them an extra bit of animosity against the champs. Could that be what gets them a win over the champions, or will they fall like all the rest during the 204 day reign of the champions?
Jurassic Express Are In Trouble From The Start
The match would start with Jungle Boy & Kenny Omega in the ring, with Omega winning the opening lock up, shoving Jungle Boy into the ropes with Marko Stunt getting involved and into the face of Omega. Stunt wouldn’t be removed from ringside.
Jungle Boy would trip Omega up and go for a rollup for a quick one count, and maintain control through a springboard arm drag. Omega would again be distracted by Stunt, and take a dropkick to the face for this. Luchasarus would be tagged in, and throw Jungle Boy into Omega to hit a flatliner for a near fall.
Omega would throw strikes with the heavyweight, a mistake as he’d be battered in the corner. Jungle Boy tagged himself in and dove onto Omega for a two count. Omega wouldn’t make the tag to Page despite an opening, with Page making the blind tag and hitting a big sliding lariat on Jungle Boy.
Page would put the match back in the champs corner, with his strong fundamentals shining through. Jungle Boy would find himself in between the champions as they battered him with strikes. He would fight out, but going for an arm drag would leave him crotched on the top rope, taking a lariat as we would go to a commercial break.
Hangman Page & Kenny Omega Dominate
Coming back from the break, Luchasarus had just gotten the tag and was taking out both Page & Omega. A big boot would stun Omega, but he’d be able to save Page from a powerslam before being kicked in the face again. Luchasarus would hit a chokeslam into a standing moonsault for the two count.
Omega made the blind tag, and Luchasarus would be caught in the ropes for a V-Trigger to the back followed by two snap-dragons. Jungle Boy slipped in and countered a snapdragon into an armdrag, sending Omega to the outside. A snickering Marko Stunt would be dropped on his head by Omega, followed by Jungle Boy.
Omega went to the top rope for a missile dropkick to the back of the head, followed by a Fisherman Suplex. Page would be tagged in, and they’d drop Jungle Boy with an assisted German Suplex. Omega took a tail whip, but Luchasarus would narrowly avoid the Buckshot Lariat, instead grabbing the throat.
He wouldn’t get the double chokeslam, but the double suplex worked before Jungle Boy dived in on Page before taking out Omega. Marko Stunt would be thrown by Luchasarus into Omega, and Page would nearly lose the match in the middle of the ring.
Last Call For Jurassic Express
A spin kick to the face and an elbow to the back of the head would almost finish Page, but Omega saved it. Jungle Boy would be powerbombed into his partner before Omega wiped both men out with a dive over the top. Page nailed a huge powerbomb in the middle of the ring, but Jungle Boy managed to survive.
The Last Call would be set up, Jungle Boy would be sandwiched with a Buckshot Lariat & V-Trigger, ending another tag team championship match. Who will finally be able to stop Hangman Page & Kenny Omega? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
